The Dark Side of the Moon

Chapter 17

Remus apparated outside of 12 Grimmuald Place at 6:58. He entered and saw almost every Death Eater seated at a long table. He quickly took a seat next to Jasper.

"What took you so long?" Jasper whispered as Remus sat down.

"I may have gone to Knockturn Alley to find a book about Horcruxes," he whispered back.

"Well did you find one?" 

"Yeah I did. Turns out Horcruxes are-"

Remus was cut off by Voldemort standing up. "Welcome my fellow Death Eaters. I have called this meeting because it has been decided that it is time to seize Hogwarts. The old fool, Dumbledore, cannot hold on to it forever."

The Death Eaters begin cheering. "Silence!" Voldemort yelled. Everyone stopped talking instantly. Remus was reminded of Hogwarts during the announcement of the Yule Ball. He smiled slightly. 

"That is not the only reason why I called you here. A few of my possessions have been stolen. If I find that any of you have them, I will kill you." Voldemort said with a creepy smile. The four werewolves glanced at each other uneasily. "That is all. This meeting is done. I will summon all of you when we need to seize Hogwarts. Now Walburga, how about dinner."

The Death Eaters all got up. Some of them made their way to the sitting room, while others left. Remus was making his way to the sitting room, when he felt a pull. He stopped Jasper, who was right behind him. "Do you feel that?" Remus asked.

Jasper looked confused. "Feel wha- oh wait. That pull? I feel like I'm being pulled toward that closet."

Vishaka and Fenrir came from behind Jasper. "What are you two dumbasses do-" Vishaka stopped. "I feel it too. This way." Vishaka said as she started making her way toward the closet. Fenrir tried to grab her, but she moved out of the way. 

Vishaka got to the closet door and pulled open the door. Remus got to the door next and he stared at the scene in front of him. There was a very ugly elf, with big floppy ears and wrinkly skin and it was making out with a with a pair of boxers. 

"What the fuck?" Remus heard Jasper whisper behind him. Apparently, the elf heard it too because it whipped its head to look at them. Before it can do anything, Remus pulled out his wand and silenced it. He also put a spell around them so that no one in the sitting room can hear them. 

"Do you see the locket it's wearing?" Vishaka asked. 

"Take it." Fenrir said. 

"What why?" Jasper asked. Fenrir rolled his eyes. "Don't you feel the pull?"

Remus pushed passed Vishaka and crouched down. "Hey. Did Regulus give you that locket?" The elf's eyes widened. It started moving its mouth, before realizing that it still can't speak. Remus pointed his wand at it. "I'm gonna take the spell off and you're going to answer all of our questions." The elf nodded. Remus took the spell off.

"And you cannot punish yourself for anything you say to us," Vishaka said. Jasper looked at her,  questioningly.  "The Sehgals are a branch off the Black family tree. The elf has to listen to me." Jasper looked like he was going to ask another question before he thought better of it. 

Remus turned back to the elf. "Now, did Regulus give you that locket?"

"Master Regulus has given Kreacher the locket. Master told Kreacher to destroy it."

"Where is Master Regulus?" Remus asked.

"Master Regulus is gone." Kreacher wailed. "Master Regulus was dragged under the water at the cave." Kreacher started sobbing, while clutching the locket.

"Hey. Kreacher it's okay. Can you tell me why Master Regulus went to the cave?"

Kreacher hiccuped. "The Dark Lord needed a house elf. Master Regulus wanted to make the Dark Lord proud, so he offered Kreacher. Kreacher wanted to make Master proud so Kreacher went. The Dark Lord took Kreacher to a cave and made Kreacher drink a potion. Potion made Kreacher relive bad memories. The Dark Lord dropped this locket in after crossing a lake with monsters in it. Then he left Kreacher in the cave." Vishaka put a hand over her mouth. 

"How'd you get out?" Jasper asked. 

"Master called Kreacher back. Master told Kreacher about an Auror named Danny. How he and Danny wanted to stop the Dark Lord. Master made Kreacher to take Master to the cave. Master went and drank the water himself." Vishaka gasped. "Master gave Kreacher the locket and told Kreacher to destroy it. Then Master got taken underwater by the dead arms." Vishaka let a tear drop. "Kreacher could not destroy the locket, Kreacher tried everything."

Remus got an idea. "How about you give us the locket? We can destroy the locket and Master Regulus would be so proud of you." Remus can tell Kreacher was thinking about. 

"Okay," Kreacher said before dropping the locket into Remus's hand. 

None of them notice the flash of blonde hair as it hurried away toward its master, excited to share what they saw.
