Octavia and I watch as the grounders began their training. I sat watching them fight each other, brutally. Octavia suddenly stands up and walks over to Indra. I quickly rush after, making sure she doesn't get into any trouble. Octavia slides out her sword as she gets closer.
"We're suppose to train together, right?" Octavia asks.
"Only warriors train here." Indra gives her the side eye.
"I saved your life." Octavia says, as if it's going to mean something.
"And now I'm saving yours." Indra replies before turning back to her warriors. Octavia huffs before storming off. I have a small smile before heading to sit near where the guardsmen were shooting bullets. I began to whittle some more arrows, hoping it'd be useful.
"Sir, we've got an audience." A guardsmen tells Kane, gesturing towards a group of grounders who were looking at the guns in amazement.
"Hold your fire." Kane orders the guards. I roll my eyes as Kane takes a gun from one of the guards. He was going to show off, I just knew it. "Keep a solid stance. Observe." He says, then starts shooting at the target, missing them by an inch. I scoffed.
"Think you can do better?" A guard sneered at me. I gave a small laugh.
"Of course I can." I tell him, smirking. He held out the gun and gestured for me to take it. I gave him a sinister smile before taking it. Kane and the other guards looked at me, as I raised the gun. They were probably thinking that I wouldn't make it, but little did they know, three shots, Bulls eye.
"How the hell." The same guard mutters. I scoffed before handing the gun back to the guard.
"I was here for the war against the grounders, of course I'd have wicked aim." I say, mockingly. Kane laughs at my comment before turning to the grounders who were staring, now at me in amazement. I leant back on the fence watching them.
"Would you like to try? I could teach you. Your enemy has guns, so should you." Kane holds out the gun towards the grounders. One of them takes a step forward and reaches out for the gun but Indra comes and barks at the grounders. "It's okay. I offered." Kane reassures Indra.
"Get back to training. All of you." Indra orders the grounders.
"Guns could keep them alive. It's like they're afraid of them." Kane says to the guards, confused.
"They are." Octavia says, appearing out of no where.
"Legend has it, if a grounder picks up a gun, even to shoot another grounder, Mount Weather will wipe out their entire village." I added, "Can't have your blood supply defending themselves, right?" I ask them.
"If we don't arm them, we won't win." Kane states. I shrug.
"Like hell we can't." Octavia growls before storming off again.
"We don't know enough about these people." Kane mutters.
"They sure seem to." A guard gestures to Octavia and I. I scoffed before walking off and head to my tent. I laid down and fell into a much needed sleep.
When I woke, the sky had turned dark, and fires were lit. I looked around for Octavia and saw that she was on her way towards Indra and her group of warriors.
"Time for one more?" Octavia asks. I walk over to stand by Kane and watch as Octavia tried to get through to Indra another time.
"Step aside, Sky Girl. We're hungry." Indra orders Octavia.
"Make me." She looks the grounder in the eye. Indra sighed before gesturing towards a grounder.
"Fio. Give this girl what she wants." Indra orders the grounder, who steps up happily.
"Sir?" Someone asks Kane, ready to interrupt to stop the fight.
"It's all right. Let it go." Kane tells the man.
"Let's do this." Octavia smiles. They begin to fight, he gives a blow to her knocking her off her feet. The grounder turns to leave, and Octavia stumbles back up.
"Hey, are you going to give up that easily?" Octavia asks the grounder.
"She wants more, oblige her." Indra orders Fio. I gasped as he gives her another blow, and again she gets back up. This goes on for another while, until Octavia gets too weak to get back up. The grounders laughed before walking off to hunt for food. I immediately rush to the girl on the floor.
"Octavia." I gasped, trying to help her up. Kane comes over to help me with her.
"I got you." Kane mutters.
"We got you." I say, as I help Octavia on her left side as Kane took the right. Kane gives me a small smile.
"What're you trying to prove?" Kane asks her as we carry her into the ark to tend her wounds. We sat her down, and I begin to take out the supplies, I begin to tend her wounds.
"What were you thinking, Octavia?" I asked her, wiping away at the dirt.
"I needed to prove a point." She mutters.
"Well next time, please try not to get this hurt when you prove a point. Bellamy will have my head." I joke.
"Oh please. Bellamy would not. He loves you too much." She scoffs. I smiled before looking at the ground, suddenly remembering.
"I miss him." I mutter.
"I miss him too. But he's Bellamy. He should be safe." She assures me. The doors slide open, making both of us to look. Indra walks in.
"What do you want?" Octavia asks her, glaring a little.
"I'll be going now." I say, packing up the equipment quickly, and ran out of the room.
