Octavia, Lincoln, and I ran as quickly as we could away from the war zone. A creek can be seen from the distance. I pointed towards it.

"There." I say, breathlessly. We quickly made our way towards the rocks and sat Octavia down.

"Thanks." She muttered.

"What're we going to do now?" I ask worriedly at Octavia's sudden paleness.

"Get that arrow out. Reina, start a fire." He says, leaning down to clean his blade, I sighed and leant down to make the fire, "If we're going to go to a neighboring tribe, you guys have to know our language." He tells us, rubbing at his blade.

"Why?" I ask, confused.

"Ai laik Okteivia en Reina kom skai kru en ai gaf gouthru klir." Lincoln says to us, "Repeat it." He ordered.

"Ai laik Okteivia en Reina kom skai kru en ai gaf gouthru klir." I mumbled.

"Good. Octavia?" He looks to her. She sighed before repeating the line.

"Ai laik Okteivia en Reina kom skai kru en ai gaf gouthru klin." She says.

"Klir." I mutter to her. She gives me a look. I put my hands up in surrender before looking into the fire.

"Klir not klin." Lincoln tells her, "Gouthru klir." He says, "Again."

"What does that even mean?" I ask, confused as to why we needed to say it.

"We are Octavia and Reina of the sky people and we seek safe passage." He translates. I nodded and returned to look at the fire.

"Why do we even have to learn this?" Octavia asks, "You speak English."

"Only our warriors speak English. When we get to the sea, you need to sound like one of us." He explains.

"Then we have time." She say, looking at him. She looks through Lincoln's journal and points at a picture, "Tell me about this one." She says.

"A statue near my village. A place we go to settle disputes." He tells her, looking in the eyes.

"Stop stalling and pull it out." Octavia says, staring at him. Without warning, he pulls the arrow out with one swift pull. Octavia groans in pain.

"No warning? Nothing?" She says through the pain. I stifled a laugh as she glared at Lincoln. Lincoln takes the heated knife and places it over her wound. Again, Octavia groans in pain, "I take it back, no warning is better." She says through gritted teeth. Lincoln brings the arrow up to his lips and immediately spits it out.

"Poison." He growls.

"I'm guessing this means you don't have the antidote?" I ask, looking at Octavia worriedly.

"No. I gave it to Finn to save Raven." He tells us.

"So we go back." I say, standing up. Lincoln shakes his head.

"It's too far. It's further to the sea." Lincoln tells me. Octavia takes one look at Lincoln and shakes her head immediately.

"Damn it. Lincoln we are not going back to your village." She says. I looked at her in confusion as to how she knew what he was thinking, "You know what they do to traitors."

"Octavia." Lincoln tries to reason with her.

"Death by 1,000 cuts." She says.

"Every single member of you clan will take a turn stabbing you, and they'll feed you to the bugs." I added.

"It's what you told us." Octavia finishes.

"Here take this." Lincoln hands me the knife, "I will be right back." He says and turns to leave.

"Lincoln, where are you going?" Octavia asks him.

"The antidote. It comes from the beetles that feed on the river moss." He replied, walking further into the forest before disappearing.

"How do you feel?" I ask her, crouching down to her.

"Alright." She mutters. I nodded.

"I'll be over there, cleaning myself up. Okay?" I ask her, carefully.

"Yeah." She nods, and I stand up to go to the river. I began to peel my clothes off, and entered the water. I closed my eyes and sighed in relief as I felt the cool water engulf me. A shriek snapped me out of my trance, I bolted to Octavia, trying to get my clothes on at the same time.

"Octavia? Octavia! What is it?" I ask, rushed, as Lincoln comes bolting into the clearing.

"Hey, Octavia. Whats wrong?" Lincoln asks her, with a worried look.

"I saw a man." She breathes, "It was.. It was a monster." She cries. I looked at her, concerned.

"It's the poison." Lincoln noted, feeling her forehead, "You're burning up." I panicked.

"We have to hurry." I rushed out, as Lincoln picked her up.

"I know what we have to do." Lincoln says.

"What are you doing? Where are we going?" Octavia manages to get out.

"Just hold on." He tells her, and we rush into the forest. I follow Lincoln as he leads us to an unknown destination.

"Okay." She breathes.

"Recite the saying for me so I know you're conscious." Lincoln demanded.

"Ai laik Okteivia en Reina kom skai kru en ai gaf gouthru klir." She mutters over and over again. After a few times, she stops.

"Once more. Come on, say it." Lincoln urges her.

"Ai laik Okteivia en Reins kom skai ... you know, you still haven't even told us where we're going." She mumbles.

"Can't you smell it? We're almost to the sea." Lincoln tells her, I smelt the air, and knew he was lying. The air smelt musky, meaning we were still in the forest.

"No, I can't smell anything." she says, "Lincoln, I'm scared." She cries. Tears were beginning to form in my eyes, fearing for my friend's safety. Lincoln takes off running, and I followed as best as I could with my broken ankle. He places her down next to a monument.

"Now sleep. Be back with the antidote as soon as I can." Lincoln says to her. Octavia looks around, and looks at him in panic.

"You brought me to your village?" She gasps.

"I won't let you die." He says.

"Lincoln." she tries to stop him, "They'll kill you."

"Only if they catch me." He says to her, caressing her cheek. She reluctantly lets go.

"Be careful." I say to him. He nods.

"Stay alive and stay quiet." He tells us. I nod, and he turns to run off. I sat down next to Octavia. She lays her head on my shoulder, as I laid my head on her head.

"You need to stay alive for me. I can't lose you either." I whisper. I can feel her nodding. I feel my eyes begin to close, so I let sleep overcome me.
