Surviving ➳ bellamy blake

twenty two ➳ it might not even take long

The group had stopped at the base of the mountain. We now had to wait for Bellamy to deactivate the acid fog before we could do anything else. I was currently sat in a tent with Octavia.

"What are you thinking of?" I ask her, as I see her with her thinking face on.

"Nothing." She replied stiffly, looking at me. I knew she was lying, but decided to shrug it off. A few minutes later, Clarke came over.

"Everything okay?" She asks as soon as she sees the look on Clarke's face. Octavia turns to look at her, face hard, void of any emotion.

"I'm going over and over in my head, just trying to figure out how you're still alive." she begins.

"What are you talking about?" Clarke asks her, catching on to what she means.

"I saw you in Tondc before the missile hit. I know you, Clarke. Something's wrong. And then you and Lexa just happen to survive. Tell me you didn't know it was coming." Octavia finishes her though. Clarke looked panicked now. The look on her face confirmed what Octavia was thinking.

"Octavia..." Clarke tries to reach out to the girl. Octavia yanks her hand away and stands up.

"You let all those people die. You were gonna let ME die." She puts the emphasis on me.

"I did it to save Bellamy, so that we could win this war. Don't you see that? If we'd evacuated Tondc, Mount Weather would've known that someone tipped us off. They would have found your brother." Clarke explains desperately to Octavia.

"No, Bellamy would have never told you to do that. He would've found another way." Octavia tells her, glaring.

"I couldn't take that risk." Clarke says.

"Right. Because you're in charge now, and you decide who's disposable. You'd have fit right in on the council." Octavia spat out to Clarke, before grabbing my arm, about to lead me away.

"Hey, Octavia. You can't tell anyone. If people found out, the alliance will break." Clarke stops the girl from leaving. I look back to Clarke, her face filled with pain.

"I'm not an idiot, Clarke." Octavia says, then noticing Lexa coming up behind Clarke. "Commander." She greeted.

"Octavia. Reina. It's time for the southernmost guard post's rotation. You guys should relieve them." Lexa tells us.

"Indra expects us to be on a scouting mission with Lincoln." Octavia tells the commander.

"Now you're needed at the guard post. Indra will join you there shortly." She states, looking her in the eyes. Octavia let's out a sigh, but goes to the guard post anyways. I quickly follow in pursuit. When we reached the post, she turned to me.

"Tell me you didn't know about the missile." She says, looking at me with pleading eyes.

"I came to Tondc with Abby. On the way to meet up with Kane, Clarke came running up to us, saying it wasn't safe in Tondc. I swear to you, O, I didn't know about the missile until it came soaring by." I explained to her.

"So it's just Clarke and Lexa." She nods, and continue to stare out into the clearing, keeping guard.

I sat, looking at the sky when I saw something flash. The flares.

"Octavia!" I call out, pointing at the flares.

"He did it." She breathes.

"Bellamy did it." I laughed, pulling her into a hug. I glance up the hill and saw Clarke and the commander. She yelled something out, and the grounders around us yelled out.

I guess this is it. We were going to war against Mount Weather.

"War for the second time on earth, and it hasn't even been a year yet. This should be an amazing tale to tell to the future generations." I joked, but then remembered. I sighed, looking at the ground.

"Hey, Munchkin's in a better place now. Maybe it wasn't the time for a baby to be born. It'll happen again. Knowing you and Bellamy, it might not even take long." She tries to comfort me.

"Okay. That's enough." I gently push her away. We both laughed. I knew one thing, I was grateful to have Octavia at this time.
