Keefe sat down under Calla's Panakes tree and sighed happily.
"Happy to be home?" Sophie asked sitting down next to him. He smiled and nodded his head.
"Or are you just happy to have treats?" she asked. Keefe thought about this for a moment and then held out his hand to shake it side, the universal sign for "kind of".
"He's definitely happy to have treats." Fitz announced as he plopped down on the other side of Keefe. One by one their friends came to sit down with them until they formed a circle with their bodyguards standing behind their charges.
"Are you really not going to talk Keefe?" Linh asked. Keefe shook his head and grabbed a piece of paper that Marella had set down for him to write on.
"I have an idea!" Sophie called out. She connected them all telepathically.
Good idea Sophie, Fitz tramsitted.
What should we do to commemorate the return of Hunkyhair? Ro wondered, patting Keefe on the shoulder.
We should all come up with our own symbols! Biana suggested. As I said before, I'm want to be a kelpie.
And as I said before Fitz told her, since that's already your Team Valiant mascot, you should be a boobrie.
If not a kelpie Biana continued, ignoring Fitz. I want to be a suncatcher.
I give my approval Keefe thought to the group
Mine's is definitely going to be a dragon, as a tribute to Mr. Snuggles. Fitz proclaimed.
I again give my approval Keefe proclaimed.
And I... can't think of one. Dex mumbled. Can you come back to me? Keefe nodded and turned to Linh.
"I want to be a murcat!" Linh decided. "For Princess Purryfins!" Keefe almost laughed but Tam pinched him.
You have my approval! Keefe thought to her, glaring at Tam.
I've been waiting to do that for a long time, Tam said smugly.
I have an idea! Keefe announced, his mental voice sounding excited. Bangs Boy's symbol should be a vermnion!
No. I want to be a griffin. Everyone stared at him.
What? he asked, sounding a little offended. They're cool!
Keefe sighed and thought, I guess you have my approval. He turned his attention to Marella.
Ummm, any suggestions? she asked.
Maybe a flaredon? Or what about a phoenix? Dex suggested.
On the one hand, flaredons are bigger Marella compared. But on the other hand, phoenixes are, in my opinion, prettier. So I think phoenixes.
Congratualations! You now have the Keefe Seal of Approval!
Wylie? Sophie prompted.
I got it! Dex yelled out mentally. Oh sorry Wylie. Did you want to go?
No it's fine, I need a little more time to think anyways. he replied.
What do you think of... Dex paused for suspense. A banshee? A long stretch of silence followed.
Why? Wylie finally asked.
Because banshees are actually really important but they're kind of underrated! Dex replied, at the end pointing his thumbs at himself. Keefe clapped really really hard.
Okay, Wylie, you ready? Dex asked.
Ummm, not really? Wylie admitted. Can I get some help?
Sure, Maruca offered. What about flickerwing? Wylie seemed to consider it.
That seems reasonable. he said thoughtfully. Keefe clapped again, deciding he didn't feel like actually mentally voicing his approval. You want to go now Maruca?
Okay, she replied. How about a halcyon? They are pretty cool birds and their color matches the stripe in my hair. A small moment of silence passed while everyone considered it, broken when Keefe clapped his hands with his approval.
And the final matter that I was thinking about, Sophie announced. We need a team name. This sparked an eruption of suggestions.
Team Sparkles! Biana yelled.
Team Awesome! Dex proclaimed.
Team Cool People! Marella shouted.
SETTLE DOWN, YOU'RE GIVING ME A HEADACHE! Sandor called out.
I think that we should pick a name that represents our leader. Fitz suggested. Keefe knew what he was going to say and a grin spread on his face.
Team Moonlark.
Keefe decided he was done being quiet.
"I really missed you all." he said out loud.
-This is the very last chapter. I'm really gonna miss you guys! But don't worry, I'll update here with the link to my new story, which will basically be the entire Keeper series told by different characters, each book changing which POV it is. And now for the special surprise I promised!

Edit: Here's the link to my new story, as of now I have not started it but I will March 1st, 2021. I'm probably going to end up starting earlier than that, but I'm trying to take a short vacation (by vacation I mean break from writing, stay at home and stay safe!).
