Chapter fourty-one

As I reached the apartment I turned on the TV and saw the Avengers fighting against the aliens. They did a very good job. But they will need a while longer as I first thought they will need. I looked closer to the TV as I saw that an Alien broke out and searched for another way. "Where did he go?" I asked suspiciously as I saw another one following him. "This looks like our..." Before I could finish the sentence the power of the whole tower turned off. 

"This isn't good. Jarvis safety power, please." I said softly as I walked out of the apartment. "As you wish," Jarvis replied as I heard some strange noises. "Jarvis. Tell me that Morgan and Pepper aren't in the tower today." I said worriedly. "I have to disappoint you. There are here." He said. "And where," I asked and he replied directly. "In their apartment. It looks like Pepper goes out of the Apartment alone." "Tell her to hide. I am on my way." I said as I rushed over to the elevator. 

A few seconds later Jarvis talked to me again. "She is in her apartment again and is hiding in the closet with Morgan. The elevator will not work. You have to walk twelve floors upstairs." He said calmly. "Fine. Just call Tony." I said as I entered the stairway. "I will call..." He said as his voice slowly fades away and the last safety light in the stairway turned off. "Jarvis. Don't tell me this fucking powers are turned out too." I said quietly as I rushed upstairs. 

Soon before I could reach the floor where Pepper's apartment was I heard strange noises again. "This is exactly the reason why I hate horror movies," I whisper to calm myself down. I looked upstairs to check if I can go up to the last floor. I saw no one and walked upstairs but the noises were getting louder. I looked scared around and saw no one. Then I decided to check if the sound could come from downstairs and looked down. I was frightened back as I saw two of the aliens climbing the stairway up towards me.

As I reached the floor where Pepper's apartment as I hurried over to her door and knocked at it. "Pepper it's me. Open the door please." I said and she opened the door quickly. "What is going on here. Jarvis couldn't tell me any detail. And why is the power off." Pepper asked worried as I entered her apartment and locked the door behind me. "Just hide again. Some of the aliens that the others are fighting against are here." I said quietly as I heard the noises from the outside of the door. "Did Jarvis call Tony?" Pepper asked scared. "The power turned off before he was able to call him," I answered.

"And what are we doing then? We are helpless." Pepper said as she looked at Morgan. "I have an idea how I can inform them," I replied as I sat down on the floor and started to concentrate. *"Loki. Can you hear me? Please." I shouted out for him. "I can hear you. What is it we finish soon? Give us another hour." He replied. "We don't have that hour. Get Tony and come back imminently. Some of the Aliens are in front of Pepper's apartment. I can't hold them back for long." I said scared. "On my way," Loki said.*

"Tony and Loki will be here soon. I informed them." I said to Pepper. "I am glad to hear that. SO we just have to wait here." She said relieved and I nodded. Suddenly someone was knocking at the door. "Tony?" Pepper said and stood up. I grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "I don't think so. They need more time to come here." I replied as the knocking was getting harder. Like someone or something was trying to break the door. "Pepper can you suit up in any Ironman suit in here?" I asked hopefully. "Yes. Tony got one behind this wall." She said as she opened it. "Then suit up. Grab Morgan and go out of here. Now." I demanded. "And what about you?" She asked as she suited up. "I can handle myself. And now go." I said determining. 

I hoped that I could handle them long enough to keep them both safe and maybe long enough to be safe until Loki would arrive. Pepper grabbed Morgan Softly and shot at the window to break it open. At the same time the door breaks open and the aliens ran in. Pepper flew out of the building and I tried to distract the aliens by harming them and it worked. They didn't notice Pepper and Morgan escaping but now I got the whole attention of the aliens. "Fuck!" I said as I started to run away. I rushed over to the stairway and looked down and saw another alien. "Then upstairs again," I said as I ran upstairs heading to the rooftop.

As I reached the rooftop I locked the door behind me hoping that they would break this one faster than the apartment door. But this time there were three of them not only two. *"Loki. I'm on the rooftop. Pepper and Morgan are safe. But there are three of them. I love you." I said crying." "Don't you dare to say goodbye?" He said worriedly. "I am there in a minute."* The door cracked a bit open and I was able to see one of the aliens and look him directly in his eye. I took a step back but it was already the end of the building. 

The door wasn't able to hold them back anymore and the aliens entered the rooftop. I was so scared that I wasn't able to move anymore. I stand there in shock. I tried to concentrate but I was too scared to do anything. I screamed out loud as the aliens took a big jump in my direction to attack me. I closed my eyes and tried to protect my stomach but I wasn't feeling anything. I just sat on the ground with closed eyes and was holding my stomach as protection. As I heard a familiar voice and felt a touch on my shoulder I slowly opened my eyes.

Loki was back right in time. I hugged him happily and kissed him. "I-I thought that..." I stutter. "I know. I am here. And I will never leave you again." Loki said as he hugged me tightly. Loki helped me to stand up again and I was able to the see mess that was left by the three aliens. Tony was standing at the rooftop too and walked over to us. As he reached us he grabbed me in a tight hug. "Thank you. You risked your life to save my woman and my child. I owe you so much." Tony said happily. "Every time again. But I don't want to live here any longer this building is a big danger for everyone."  I said laughing. "I was already planning to move everything to a different and bigger place. That is the reason for the party next month. And everyone will get their own house or apartment." Tony said laughing. "We take a house. Then you don't owe me anything anymore." I replied. "Deal." Tony chuckled before we left the apartment to walk over to the others.
