Chapter twenty-three

"Brother." Thor entered the room. "It's been a few days now, you have to take a break. You didn't sleep or eat well these last days." He said worriedly. "You need to be strong for her. It's not helping her if you break down too." He said placing his hand on Loki's shoulder. "I can't leave her alone, she needs me. I promised to never leave her side." Loki said sadly. "Listen. You don't have to leave her for long just sit down here at the table and eat now."

Loki sat down at the chair in front of a table with some food on it. Loki took a bite of an apple and sighed. "I don't understand why she is not waking up. Her wounds healed quickly when we arrived at the hospital wing and I gave her my blood." He shakes his head in disbelief. "Why can't she come back to me. I can't even imagine what she is going thru now." Thor sat down at a chair. "She will make it. She is a fighter just like you." Thor said smiling in Loki's direction. "I have to go to Asgard for a while. But if there is something you need or something changes, contact me directly." Thor walked out of the room and went to Asgard.

After Loki finished his breakfast he lay down next to me and hugged me. "I know you can hear me. I will never leave you. You are strong, keep on fighting darling. I love you." He starts thinking about our wedding. How lucky we were before the rocket destroyed everything. "The others are trying to find the attackers, but there is no clue. The rocket got destroyed and nothing has happened since then. If I find them I will kill them all." He said a bit angry. "No one will ever hurt you again. I promise." He said stroking my arms before falling to sleep.

Meanwhile in Asgard
"Hello, Mother." Thor smiled walking towards his mother grabbing her in a hug. "It's good to see you again." She smiled. "How is your brother? And how is his wife?" She asked calmly. Thor looked shocked. "Loki is sad that she doesn't wake up yet, but he has no injuries. Like the others, she protected us all." Thor replied not understanding why his mother would care for Loki's wife and how she could even know everything. "I'm glad to hear that. But how's she?" She asked again. "She got badly injured. She hit her head and got a deep cut on her stomach. She lost a lot of blood but Loki spends some of his blood to heal her. It helped to heal her wounds but she didn't wake up and we can't explain why. Loki didn't leave her side since the accident." Thor answered with a sad smile.

"I am so sorry for them both. That shouldn't have happened. And especially not on their wedding day. Loki is so happy with her. I hope she will wake up soon." She said walking down the halls. Thor followed her still confused why she would care now. "How do you even know that they married and about the accident?" Thor finally asked. "Your father told me. I was and I am still happy that Loki found his true love. If I had known it earlier maybe I could have helped them. Maybe nothing bad had happened to them." She said before entering a room where Odin was already waiting for them both. He looked at both of them, "I was expecting you, Thor." Odin said without any emotion.

"Hello, father," Thor said. Walking towards Odin followed by his mother. "How do you know about the wedding and the explosion. And please tell that it wasn't you who send the rocket that evening." Thor asked worried that his father was the reason for this accident. "I always have an eye on you and Loki. And someone has an eye on the goddess of minds. I still don't trust her." Odin replied, "but I would never do something that could hurt or kill my sons." Thor believed him but he was getting angry. His father erased the memories of him and his brother. "Why would you care now? You erased our memories many years ago. You break Loki when you separated them. And we still don't know why you did it." Thor said angrily. His mother walked towards Thor and placed her hand on his shoulder. Odin stood up from his throne and walked towards them.

"I will explain it. But trust me. Back then I thought and I know that it was the best. Maybe not for them... but it was the best for the rest of Asgard and the whole universe." Odin said calmly. "I found out that they were married a few weeks before I forced her to erase all your memories. I observed them and found out that she was very powerful. Too powerful with Loki on her side. I couldn't control her anymore and I couldn't control Loki anymore. It was a risk I couldn't take. As Loki found out he was adopted he freaked out and it broke his heart in some way. Of course, he told her everything, even if he didn't have to tell her it in words. He felt the same pain as he felt and it broke her heart even more that Loki has to go thru so much pain." Odin said and take a deep breath.

"She was so angry. The anger that Loki felt multiplied in her. I can't explain why it happened but as I found out it was too late. He was standing in front of me and yelled at me. The guards who tried to hold her back got thrown away. Loki ran towards her and waited for my explanation. But I wasn't able to give him some explanations. Instead, I gave the guards the command to hold Loki and said that if she will not calm down I have to kill him. Of course, I didn't mean to do something to my son. Even if he is not my biological son. She raged so hard that she killed the two guards who were holding Loki by accident. You were there too Thor." Thor sat down in disbelief and tried to process everything that his father had said.

"But how did you got her to erase our memories?" Thor asked. Odin continued, "we trapped Loki again and she forced herself to calm down. For Loki. I know about their bond and so I forced her to erase everything about their past. And she did as I said. To protect Loki. We imprisoned her for over 30 years and put a spell on her so that she couldn't kill anyone again. But since both of them are together again the spell didn't work anymore. So I observed them again. I saw that they were good for each other and so I decided that I let them be together. I am truly sorry that everything happened in that way. If I could change the past I would do it." Odin said and you could hear in his voice that he was truly sorry for his doings in the past. "She has to remember again what happened that day. Then she could bring back all of your memories. You have to tell her everything I told you." Odin said before he left Thor standing there in shock.
