Halloween is when no one can hear you scream

Coming out of the forest every child in their Halloween costume seemed to have grown taller or aged by about fifteen years.
They don't even look like that they're looking for candy, they're not interested in opening their chocolate bars, devouring the sugary goodness and licking the paper clean, they're merely noticing the houses that left out coins in the candy bowls for children. They're looking for a victim. Lukyo is the only one becoming aware that something is wrong. They know that they can't go anywhere and have to wait for Liam to get back, but she knows that having an adult here won't make a difference.
Khalid is also aware that everyone is acting odd but he doesn't take it seriously, he simply mistakes it as teenagers that probably smoked something weird, wanting to pull pranks on people.

Rin doesn't need to look around, he knew this would happen, he just didn't know that he was going to be responsible for it. Rin preferred to put his mask back, it makes his headache worse but he's in a pensive mood at the moment and can't seem to snap put of it. Liam will be back at any moment and he notices these things, the change in his expression, the crippling guilt in his body movements, in his eyes and he simply does not want to be questioned, especially not now.

Angel doesn't notice anything, he's squeezing his eyes shut from the nausea, resting on Lukyo's shoulder, it's not very cozy but it's better than collapsing on the cold grass. All he can think about is his warm bed, hopefully with fresh, clean covers that make always make him feel like he's being cuddled by a cloud in the sky.

A slender, dark figure with a hump and horns on it's forehead looks at them, from the other side of the street. Seen from a far it looked like it went to buy a series of blue glowing sticks and wear them on it's arm.

'What is he looking at?' Lukyo says brusquely. Rin lifts his mask to see better. 'Lukyo j-just! Ig-ig-ignore it!'
Angel opens his eyes to see what all the commotion is about. As the figure gets closer and closer it's pretty obvious to Lukyo that it's not a costume. A wall of fire arises and separates them from the figure. The blazing vortex slowly diminishes from Rin's mouth. The figure turns 180° and walks away. Leaving everyone in the neighborhood deeply disturbed.

'Rin!' Khalid yells. He puts his mask back on acting like it was not a big deal. 'Do you have any idea how much attention we're drawing to ourselves? Put it out right now!' Khalid spits out in anger!

Branches on the grass ignited, a spark jolted on Angel's cheek, everyone except for Khalid takes a step back. He stomps with his massive Dr. Martens on the bridge of fire to try and put it out.

'It-it was g-going t-to attack u-us.' Rin is aware that it was really aiming at Lukyo but he didn't want to freak her out even more, making her feel like they're all after her now.

'Rin, was that thing a demon?' Angel asks, he doesn't understand why it would attack them, especially here of all places. Another one walks in front of them, similar to the last one but in a different shape, like most of them have wings this one has wings. A particular smaller one runs towards a little girl wearing a dark blue monster costume, as it touches her it immediately dissolves. The little girl starts to feel dreary, but no one notices because they're much too shocked by the figure dissolving into the air.

It could have been me if Rin hadn't been here. Lukyo thinks to herself.
Rin doesn't want to really say it because he is aware that everyone has such black and white views on it. 'Yes... A demon.'
An acid feeling starts eating away at Angel's stomach. Years ago when he asked Lukyo if demons can hurt them and she said that they can, but it doesn't mean that they would. What changed? Could it be that Lukyo was wrong? Everything he knows about magick is thanks to her, he does't know what to think now.

'Angel! Rin! How's it going? Khalid, Lukyo. Are you guys all done?' Liam startles them and makes them jump back a few feet.
'I want to go home. I don't feel well.' Angel says, his voice super dim.
Rin quickly puts his mask back on. 'W-we ate t-too many ca-candies.'
