TRIGGER WARNING!
EATING DISORDER.
A phone booth old and filthy enough to have grown mold is being fed a coin, it rings. 'Hello...' Whenever I harmed someone I only did it as a joke, of course I only do it to friends.
'Hello?'
'There's been an accident, a little boy slipped and fell and he's not waking up.' Khalid says calmly. Sometimes I don't want to do it as a way to mess around. Sometimes I simply want to get even.
'What's your location?'
'I don't remember the name of the street...' Lots of people don't do it because they don't want to ruin their public image or feel bad for the person even if they were the ones that first caused them pain. Screw that! I just don't want to go to jail... But keeping face is quite important too.'It's at the park Forstyhall.' Khalid says smiling and hangs up.
But we have magickal powers. It's different. No one's going to believe the boy. "She manipulated the wind and launched me in the air!" She didn't physically push him, she's in the clear.Victor was carried out in the ambulance. Lukyo didn't think it was a good idea to run and hide, it would have looked way too suspicious.
'You can relax!' Khalid yells from afar. Lukyo turns around agitated. 'I called the ambulance. Hopefully I'm the only one who saw.'
Lukyo feels like she can't breathe, she feels trapped even though she's in a really wide open space outside.
'Don't worry!' Khalid laughs walking up to her. His voice is now lower 'When I called I told them that he slipped and fell.'
'The whole school knows that I'm a witch and none of them can keep their mouths shut, they're gonna know.' Lukyo panics, her breathing worsens. She starts to feel pain in her abdominal.
'...Uh-huh... Do they really know that you're a witch or do they just think that you're convinced that you're a witch?'
Lukyo stays quite for a moment.
'Look kids rarely believe in magick, while adults... JUST DON'T! If that kid insists that you made him fly they're going to assume that he has an overactive imagination.'
The pain in her abdominal starts to burn more and more.
'Lukyo, we're gifted. Nothing can touch us. Yeah, okay... Our first ritual together didn't go so well but we can try a different one again.' Khalid says very softly.
'Again!?! Are you crazy? We unleashed hell on earth, there are demons in the world with us!' Lukyo screams out, clenching at her burning pain spreading all around her ribcage and manifesting in her head.
'Lower your voice!' Khalid hisses.
Lukyo turns around and retrieves to walking back home.
'Other than the element of air do you have any abilities?' Khalid asks.
Lukyo coldly nods her head without turning around.
'I have one more and so does Rin... Our abilities are kind of similar. Watch.'
Lukyo scratches her eyes, pretending that it's simply itchy, while she's really wiping away tears.
Khalid stars rotating like a spinning top, grows more and more hair, covering every inch of skin. His nose expands and turns into a snout. He looks like a magic trick a magician would use like pulling a rabbit out of a hat, but instead of a rabbit to her it looks like a black and white jail-suit and it didn't come from the hat, it seems like it's rising from the ground. She thought that the tears in her eyes might have blurred her vision for the worse, she rubs her eyes and realizes that what she is seeing is real. She had just seen Khalid morphe into a dog with black and white stripes.
Lukyo has a soft spot for dogs, all animals but mostly dogs, she always wanted one but her mother wouldn't let her have one because she didn't want the dog's hair all over the house. She slowly moves in to see if he would allow her to put him. He quickly shifts back to human before she does.
'We have all the elements. I have earth. You have air. Rin fire and Angel has water, we're the perfect team.' Khalid says. 'Rin and I can help you expand your abilities, not just launch people in the air.'
Lukyo really doesn't like him, wants to get as far away from him as possible, she doesn't want to get on his bad side or he'll tell what she did, she doesn't have much of a choice. Lukyo switches her mood to fake fascinated and her voice turns proper and poised. 'Well it is a cute ability. Can Rin turn into a dog just like you?'
'I think that he should be the one to tell you. Actually he doesn't want to share his ability with others, I'm the only one that knows, but you'll keep his secret. Right?' Khalid threatens her.
'Who would I tell?' Lukyo felt like shaking but she didn't show it, she tried to come off as naïve and unware as possible.
'Don't worry, I won't tell Angel but since he's one of the elements of our team he should know about it too.' Lukyo asks.'Okay. I'll go and get Rin. Wait for me at Angel's house.' Khalid says storming off in his canine form.
Lukyo massages her stomach. She usually doesn't get stomach aches but this is by far the most painful that she's ever experienced.
The wind makes the leaves dance and do summersaults in the air, performing for Angel as he is sitting by the window, hoping that Lukyo would stop by. Angel knows that she has school, patiently waits as he mouths the words to the movie that he left playing. He knows every scene off by heart so he doesn't need to see it, hearing it is enough to ease his mind.
'Angel, I need you to show on you something on the TV.' Glenn says.
'No. I already put in a movie.' He says robotically.
'You're not even watching it.' Glenn says. They've haven't even been locked in a week and he's already feeling like he could snap.
'I'm listening it to it.' Angel whines.
'Lukyo's father, the one who wrote the book is about to appear on TV where they ask him questions about the demons. I want you to watch it... So that you can understand why it's dangerous, because I know that you don't believe me.' Glenn explains.
Angel finally detaches his eyes from the window. He rushes on the soft carpet placed in front of the screen.
Angel has never seen an actual adult who practices witchcraft, he was starting to fear that it was something that would be outgrown as he got older. He's happy to know that there's more out there.
'Angel! Please let me in! I need to talk to you!' Lukyo taps at the window, helplessly.
'Glenn I know you told me that I better reduce human interactions because of the possessions but it's Lukyo, I can't send her aw-'
'Let her in.' Glenn sighs. Angel unlocks the window and helps Lukyo climb in. 'Angel I need to talk you, it's urgent.' Lukyo says.
Angel isn't aware of how much pain she is in. 'Glenn just told me that your Dad is gonna appear on TV, most likely to answer question about Satanism.'
'Oh... Okay... It's just that Khalid was going to oh-It can wait.' Lukyo says.
Glenn flips the channels with the buttons on the television. The static noise builds suspense in their hearts. They try to sit as patiently as possible waiting for the commercials to end.
