The clouds became a little darker than before but it's still quite bright out, especially for where they live. Meanwhile taking the train back home the three of them remained silent, both clenching at their costumes in discomfort.
Angel knew that not giving his old classmate Mara any attention and keeping quiet back at the bookstore would have been his best option, this way him and Lukyo could've spent more time together instead of having to go home early.

Angel just couldn't tolerate the fact that Mara had dared believed something that in his eyes was so utterly stupid.

Glenn had remained calmer than usual about the whole situation. He would usually yell and rant analytically about the mistake that they had made.

A horrible thought had just surpassed Angel - What if Glenn is waiting until they are at home to criticize and yell at him, or worse...

Lukyo waves them a goodbye and walks back to her home.

She lives five minutes away in a big house with two floors. She would have liked to invite Angel to come over and play today but after that fiasco at the book store she let it be, thinking that Glenn would still be quite angry at both of them.

Glenn didn't make a sound but Angel could tell that it was not a good time to say anything at all at the moment.

Lukyo's mother - Mrs. Zayan, gets off work at 20:00, so now is the right time to cast the spell. Her mother doesn't know that she practices witchcraft, she does not plan on telling her.
Mrs. Zayan has very strong beliefs in the bible and the church and she wants to raise her daughter as a Christian.

Mrs. Zayan, never the less, allows her to burn incense and light candles, as it is an activity that she has seen people do in churches, therefor she could never argue with her on that.

Mrs. Zayan cannot under any circumstances bear the smell of anything that Lukyo burns so she is only allowed to do it in her room.

Lukyo's has has some very nice furniture, even if it's really old it looks brand new and always polished, it's always been there as long as she can remember.

Her mother is extremely protective of it and always likes the house to be spotless and clean. That's the reason why she never allows her or any of her friends to play anywhere in the house, the only exceptions are their yard or her room.

Mrs. Zayan never even allows Lukyo to sit on the couch, except for when guests come over. Mrs. Zayan's logic is that if one has their own bed she doesn't get why they have to make a mess on the couch.

Lukyo does think that her reasoning was a bit on the extreme, but she understands her deeper motive, she feels that way when guests come over they'll notice that the house looks nice, that's going to reflect really well on her and how they choose to judge her as a person.

Lukyo may not be as obsessive about her belongings as her mother is, but she as well likes to keep things in order, it's the only way that she would be able to remember where everything is.
Lukyo keeps the book on witchcraft that Mr. Zayan left her, stashed neatly under several colouring books that she's had been able to draw.

Some of the pages of each of the books have ears on them so that she remembers where the pages are. She opens the book to a page that has a star in reverse at the top, following a guide to curses and hexes for revenge on people that have wrong the practitioner.

Lukyo takes a small, glass jar with a lid from the kitchen. She picked out the tiniest one she could find this way it's easy to keep hidden in her room and her mother hopefully won't notice that it's missing. She washes it with soap and takes it upstairs to her room.

Lukyo keeps magical tools hidden in her room. Under her bed a small storage collection of voodoo dolls, covered by toys. She reaches for one that has long, straight blonde hair, just like Mara.

She keeps all her colourful pins in her pencilcase with a zip. Grabs a black pen and a piece of paper. She always keeps them with her in case she needs protect herself at school.

Lukyo takes the lighter on her shelf and burns a stick of sage, every single object that she collected is now drowned by the smoke including herself.

Next she lights a black tealight candle.

Inhaling all of the smoke Lukyo is slowly sinking in a state of relaxation. She ties the strings of Mara's hair around the doll's neck, gently places the doll inside the jar,  jabs the doll at the center of the stomach with a black pin.

She closes the Jar with the lid, takes the blazing candle and has the wax drip on the lid, nearly burns her own hand with the flame.

While waiting patiently for the wax on the jar to dry up and sealing it to stay secure.

With the pen she writes down what her intentions are for the spell casting. The little piece of paper catches on fire and fades away into the air.

'From this moment on, every person that Mara Wellar mistreats...' Lukyo chants as she shakes the jar aggressively.

The flame of the candle behind her gets taller and bigger, almost setting her clothing on fire. The wind from outside forces her bedroom window begins to bang aggressively following her rhythm.

'Five pounds she will gain, ease Angel's pain and make her become obese.' She repeats the phrase three times and and each one she begins to shake it even more violently.

On the last chant the wind that came through the window snuff out her candle.
