The angst worn off between Angel and Glenn from the day before.
Everyday Angel finishes the homework that his brother assigns him. Then he lies on his bed either listening to his favourite bands on repeat, or watching the exact same movies over and over again, waiting for Lukyo to get off school at 15:00.
Ever since Angel and Lukyo became friends she would occasionally stop by his house, given that her Mother always works late and Glenn could help her with her homework if she struggled.
Her visits soon became daily routines because she's aware that Angel would get lonely staying at the house every single day doing nothing.
The next song on his CDs changed. He would space off during most of it but pay attention to the parts where it mentions the words River, Ocean, and Water. Maybe because his element is water.
A small tap occurs on the window. Angel would usually expect Lukyo to be the cause of it, but it was a little early and it sounded much gentler.
No one's at the window. He looks closer to see a little mud on the window.
Angel doesn't have a good feeling about opening the window not knowing what's making the noise, but Glenn's just in the other room lifting weights so thinking it through he doesn't see a problem with poking his head out.A strained, high-pitched bark calls to him from a bush existing under his windowsill. Angel looks down to see it's a little fox, crouched down under the bush.
The last time he saw a fox from this up close he was at the zoo with his entire family, but was much too young to remember it well.
Angel wants to pet it. He's hesitant about extending his arm out because he doesn't want to scare it away and definitely doesn't want to get bitten.
The fox allows Angel to be stroked around the white area of the neck. It's soothingly soft to touch. The fox lies down on the grass and gekkers. Angel leans down more and more, with one hand holding to the wall inside the house, in order to avoid crashing down on the little creature.
Even though the song is over and Angel can't even hear the music from here, he plays the song over in his head and he keeps coming back to the verse that has the word Water.
'I'll get you some water.' Angel says, thinking that surely it might be thirsty.
Angel climbs through the window, kneels down to the little animal, a pond forms in his palm, it gets bigger, it charmingly falls form the borders of his hands like a water swell.
Water is the element that Angel choose when obtaining his magical powers.
The little kit trustingly drinks from it, as much as it wants. After a while Angel thinks that it might be hungry so he heads back inside as quickly as he could to get it some food, he hurries in case the fox wonders off somewhere else.
Angel brings back a slice of ham, he refuses to let Glenn see it because he would think that it's just a waste to feed an animal off the street, simply for the fact that they can hunt for themselves, but Angel can't help but give in at the thought of something so small and helpless.
Angel looks around for the tiny, red fur-ball but there's no sight of it. He sees it cowering under the bush by the window.
The kit goes to devour the meat in Angel's hand shamelessly, as if it hasn't eaten in weeks. He's always loved animals, especially foxes, being able to genuinely touch one feels surreal.
Angel tries to pick the fox up, bit becomes quite fussy and distant once he tries to hold it. Angel doesn't insists and lets the kit be.
'Angel!' Lukyo calls out from a few meters away.
