Chapter 12- Clubbing

Somehow I went from randy houser to dua lipa.

Coras pov:

We arrived at the club and the first thing we did is go to the bar. The bartender gave me a weird look and then trailed his eyes off to something else. It's like he was telling someone something. I shrugged it off and just drank the vodka I ordered. Adilyn walked over to me with her cute little jeans and crop top and a large smile on her face. "Come on, let's dance."

She drags me over to the dance floor and practically throws me into Adrians arms. Smooth going Adilyn.

I feel eyes burning on me and look towards the back of the club. Towards an exit, was a man. He was large and well built, like a bodyguard. He was standing straight up with his arms crossed over his chest. And he was staring right at me.

I looked back over at Adrian, who has noticed my weird change in mood, and continue dancing so that the bodyguard guy wouldn't suspect me suspecting him. I get everyone together and we head to the bathrooms so we don't raise suspicion. I don't know how many of those guys are in this club. Us girls go in and then the guys slip in. We lock the door so no one comes in and they all look at me crazy.

"There's a bodyguard guy out there and he was staring straight at me. I think there are hunters in this club meaning we need to get the hell out. Adrian, Melinda, Mariana, Samuel, and Cedric, I'm trusting you with Adilyns life. Get her the fuck out of here. Zane, Julian, Dylan, Athena, Kian, and dakota, you guys are gonna help me figure how many of those guys are in here. Go!" I order seriously. We all nod and quickly go our separate ways. We exit the bathroom and start casually looking around. I count about 14 guys that look suspicious plus the one bodyguard I saw earlier. We sneak back into the bathroom to discuss how the hell we're getting out.

"I counted 14." Dakota states. "Same." Zane adds.

"So how are we getting unnoticed?" Athena asks. "We just have to wing it. Dylan and Julian can go first and act like they're going on a date. Dakota I want you to get Athena out as soon as Dylan and Julian walk out that door. Zane and I will stay behind and leave a few minutes after. And whatever you do, don't let anything happen to my daughter or I'll kill all of you my damn self." I say. Dylan and Julian hold hands and go as we sit back and watch casually. They exit so Dakota and Athena head out. Then they did the one thing I didn't expect tonight.

THEY KISSED!!!

"Aww they're cute!" I squeal. "The hell? Focus Cora." Zane says and looks at me with a scolding face. "Yeah yeah ok dad." I say sarcastically.

We waited about 5 minutes and then went towards the exit. I looked at him and he nodded. I kiss Zanes cheek and we laugh, pretending to be a couple. He opens the door for me but someone covers my mouth from behind me and grips around my neck with their forearm. Zane goes on alert but someone grabs him too. I stand my ground and don't fight because I'm not naive like a lovestruck teenager being torn away from her first love.

They eventually take their hand off my mouth. "Zane!" I get out. Just then the door slams off the hinges and hits the one holding Zane in the head, killing him. May I remind you these are just pathetic humans.

Zane snaps the guys neck, releasing me. Athena walks in with Dakota and they take on more of the guys rushing towards us. Zane and I go to an exit in the back to get out unspotted. As soon as I get out the door, a gun is shot and I stand stunned. Zane looks at me confused until I look down at my hands. A wooden bullet was shot into my stomach. I fall but Zane catches my head before it hits the cold, hard ground.

"Cora don't do this now!" He scolds. I feel the blood coming up and out of my mouth and I start to choke on my own blood, helplessly. My vision starts to blur and I can feel myself getting weaker each minute I'm lying on the asphalt. I see something hit Zane and he falls to the ground next to me unconscious. Someone lifts me up and places me on what feels like the back of a van and then I black out.

Adrians pov:

Everyone got out safely besides Zane and Cora. We waited a few minutes but still nothing. Athena kicked the door off the hinges and both her and Dakota went inside. We all stayed put to protect Adilyn. We know that if we go in there to search for Cora and Zane we're putting Adilyns life in danger and Cora would never forgive us for that. Suddenly we heard a gun fire and what sounded like Zanes voice yelling. We took off in the direction and even using vampire speed, we didn't make it. A black van was already speeding down the road and turning corners.

"They're gone." Adilyn says as we approach Dakota and Athena. Athena shows a moment of fear but then turns back to her usual... I can't really say what she is. Athena is weird just like Cora, however, the difference is Cora has a usual side of her. Cold and heartless. It's not her fault though. Athena walks over and hugs Adilyn. They both fall to the ground and Athena comforts Adilyn as she cries into her shoulder. The rest of us just try to figure out what to do. Cora was the brain and she is very skilled at all of this stuff. It's like her life was centered around danger. But I intend to get her back, no matter what it takes.

So I'm guessing it's safe to say I done fucked up my sleep schedule. The other night I stayed up until 4 in the morning then last night it was 2 am. You ever have those moments where you know you need to stop staying up late and stick to your sleep schedule but your phone keeps you up because you wanna do stuff on it? Yeah. And if not, then you're one hell of a lucky bitch.
