So my friend Lexi and I are having an argument. Is saying someone looks creepy the same as calling them creepy?? Please explain how it's not because it's the same damn thing.
Adrians pov:
We've been driving for 14 hours. Where the hell are they going?
And the best thing is we're almost out of gas. But I'm guessing there are too because they're pulling into a gas station somewhere in Tennessee. We make sure we're out of sight but still have eyes on them. We finish filling up the car and get back on the road... and following them. Stalker.
7 hours later we arrive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They drive for 5 extra minutes and pull into a very large and gorgeous house.
Coras pov:
"Here we are." Athena says with a sigh. "Just another temporary home."
"Cheer up Athe, we're out of there and we're safe." Dylan says and gives her a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks D." She replies with a smile.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to see the inside. Bye!!" Adilyn practically jumps out. She takes off running inside like a damn lunatic and the rest of us get our suitcases. Adilyns safe.
Or so we thought.
Adrians pov:
We saw Adilyn running inside like her life depended on it. She looked excited and the others grabbed suitcases and dragged them inside. They didn't seem amused or joyful like Adilyn.
"So are we going or...?" Dakota asks impatiently. "Chill Dak. God when do you ever stop being so serious and scary?" Kian asks back. "I'm not scary, you idiots are just simply stupid." He answers and rolls his eyes. "Damn Dak, why did you have to insult all of us?" Samuel butts in. I swear these guys are so stupid.
"Guys shut up and pay attention before they see us without us noticing." I say annoyed. They really get on my nerves.
Coras pov:
I'm tired. We've been driving all night and all day today. I just wanna get into something comfy and sleep. But no, of course there has to be an issue.
"Cora!" Dylan yells from outside my door. "Come in Dylan." I say with a sigh as he opens the door quickly. "Dylan what's wrong?" I ask seriously. He doesn't normally barge in so fast and he looks worried.
"There's a black car parked outside the house, no headlights on. We think someone followed us. Maybe a hunter?" He guesses. "No, I know who. And I know exactly how to sneak up on them." I say with a smirk. He gives me a confused look and I go downstairs to explain to all of them.
"They're watching the front of the house. This means we can use the balcony exit, hop down, and sneak up behind their vehicle." I explain. They nod in understanding and we put the plan into motion. Dylan and I are going to jump off the balcony while Adilyn, Athena and Julian wait inside. Once they hear screaming they're going to come outside and catch them off guard. We may be outnumber 5:6, but that doesn't mean we can't still kick ass.
Dylan and I jump and land quietly. We head towards the car and once we get there we bang on the back and duck so we aren't spotted. We hear screams and burst into laughter. We laugh so hard that we're rolling around on the ground and all the guys are glaring at us.
"You had no right to scare us." Dakota says with anger. "Uh yeah we did." Dylan says in a duh tone. "You guys are the ones who followed us." He adds. "Which reminds me," I start. I grab Adrian by the ear hard and pull him to the ground. "Don't go where you aren't wanted!" I finish harshly.
"Cora I already told you I didn't know." He tries to explain yet again. This is the 5th time tonight that he's tried to make peace with us. I still decline because Adilyn is at risk.
"Adrian what the hell do you want?" Adilyn asks. She seems just as fed up with his bullshit as I am. "Answers." Kian answers for him. "Last I checked he's a grown ass man who can speak for himself but sure go ahead Kian." Athena points out sarcastically.
"And what makes you think we'll give them to you?" Adilyn asks further. She crosses her arms intimidatingly like she's trying to prove a point.
"Because you know just as well as we do that you want to know what happened with Cora." Dakota answers truthfully. I do want the truth, but at what cost? Adilyns life? I won't sacrifice her just to know what's wrong with me.
"Fine. But we do this on our terms, got it?" Julian orders. They nod and we allow them to come inside the house. May as well surrender, they aren't going to give up. To be honest, I think zanes the only person I'm actually ok with being around. He seems genuinely upset with this entire situation.
"So how is Adilyn your daughter?" Dakota asks with confusion. "Experiments." I answer vaguely. "So vampires still can't reproduce?" He asks further. "I don't know, it's not like I had sex to figure it out. I'm perfectly fine with Adilyn being my only child. And I don't have to deal with the pain of losing her due to old age. I have forever with her." I explain a little more.
"Adilyn I want you to know we don't and never did have the intention of hurting you. If I knew you were the Adilyn we were assigned to get, I would've declined quickly." Adrian apologizes. She looks at me as if asking my permission on what to say. "Don't look at me it's your decision Adi." I say sarcastically. "Fine, all is forgiven but only this once. Don't keep following us, or demanding things from us. From now on you do as we say. And you will be telling your father that you are not completing this mission." She demands. That's my girl.
This was yet again supposed to be published last night but I got tired and decided just to read. I thought I read books for like 2 hours but when I looked at my phone it was 4 am and I was like nope, bed time I'm too tired lmao. I had a tough day tho. My phone stopped working, my computer logged me out of canvas so I couldn't turn in my essay. I had to use my moms phone and go through 3 hours of confusion and torture just to submit it. Life's a bitch. 🥲
