Chapter 13- Surprise

Bruh I'm tired asf. My mom woke me up this morning for schoolwork and then I saw I had none but it was too late and I couldn't go back to sleep.

Coras pov:

I groaned as I struggled to open my eyes. I had a huge ass headache and I felt like someone duh into my stomach and twisted my organs.

I finally got the strength to sit up and look at my surroundings. I was in a room with stone walls and a cold floor. I heard a grunt and turned my head. Zane was starting to come back from wherever knocked out people go.

"Cora are you ok?" He asks with concern. "Yes I'm fine." I reply with a small smile and then go back to trying to find an escape.

Ugh there's nothing in this damn room. No windows, no secret exits, nothing. Just then a door I didn't see opened. It was stone so it blended in with the wall. And in walked the large bodyguard man from last nig- HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN HERE?!!!

"You're awake. Good. Up, now. Boss wants to see you." He orders and crosses his arms over his chest. Zane and I stood up and followed the mystery man to the mystery boss. Although, I felt like I saw this man before. I just don't know when or where.

He lead us through a long hallway from our room, and we took a right. We walked straight for a few minutes and stopped in front of a large wooden door. Zane and I looked at each other unsure of what to do at this point. He gave me a weak smile and the mystery man opened the door. Zane went in first and I followed closely behind. I stood close to him like we were glued because I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I looked up and my eyes widened.

"Father?"

Adrians pov:

It's been 3 days since the club. We searched day and night but had no choice to stop and sleep and get blood. We couldn't starve ourselves and longer and if we didn't return to the house for blood bags, we'd start feeding on humans and we don't do that. We searched the entire city of Pittsburgh and every other part of Pennsylvania. We even tried cities in other states within a 400 mile radius and nothing. They're either somewhere else, or they simply don't want to be found.

I was in my room, just staring at the ceiling when I heard the door open. I jolted up and in walked Dylan, Julian, Adilyn, and Athena. They looked relieved and hopeful which only made me confused.

"We think we might know where they are." Athena says with happiness present in her voice. "Where?" I rush out. "Philadelphia. I remember one of the hunters mentioning that as me and Cora escaped from their grasp not too long ago." Adilyn explains. We hurry and get dressed and then meet downstairs to discuss a plan. You can't run into suicide without a plan.

"How are we doin this?" Samuel asks with a playful smirk. Sometimes I forget that this guy loves fighting people.

"Well I know all the entrances and exits. I also know how to move around undetected." Adilyn pops in. "You are our map." Dylan states in a funny voice. We don't laugh though, this is too serious and we aren't really in the mood for joy, we're tired.

"Anyways, I can lead all of you through the entire building. We won't be spotted unless someone fucks up. Ahem." She emphasizes towards Dylan. He rolls his eyes and she continues. "All we have to do is search until we find her and Zane. They'll either be in the cells, or the labs but I don't know for sure." She adds. We follow through with her orders and head out. I'm coming guys. Just hold on.

Coras pov:

"Wha- that's not possible, how are you here?" I ask between shock, confusion, and pain. He kidnapped me?? I'm his daughter. You don't betray family.

"Cora, you have to understand I am a hunter. And you were meant to become one, not the monstrous thing you're supposed to kill. I have to do this and I need your friend Adilyn too. A lot of the lab professionals say she's your sister but as your father, I know Clara died years ago. And not to mention at the hands of a vampire." He explains as he places his hands on the desk. He's always had a thing about being proper and professional.

"She's not my sister. That's what I compelled the doctors to believe when we escaped. She's my daughter." I say confidently. His eyes widen and I see a bit of regret and sadness flow through his eyes. "You have a granddaughter dad. But you forced me to believe you were dead and you missed seeing her grow up." I added. His face drops and he looks pale.

"How?" He breathes out. "Experiments that YOUR doctors performed." I answer and emphasize 'your'. "Cora- can I meet her?" He asks with a genuine apologetic smile. "On one condition." I order seriously. "Anything my child." He pleads. "You let us go. We all get out of here together and I'll take you right to her." I say sincerely. He nods his head and orders me and Zane to follow him. He asks the bodyguard guy to stay behind me and Zane for protection as my dad leads us out of this place. I'm coming Adilyn, I'm coming.

He takes us outside carefully and quietly and hurries us to get in the car. Apparently they have cameras. Not surprised. We drive for a while and I end up falling asleep on zanes shoulder. I had already given my dad the address and we pulled up. Zane woke me up gently and we hurried inside only to find her house was empty. I called Adilyn and she immediately picked up.

Adilyn: Cora??

Me: hey sweet girl where are you?

Adilyn: we were just on our way to get you, where are you?

Me: I'm at the house with a surprise for you.

Adilyn: DONT SCARE US LIKE THAT!!

Athena: STOP YELLING WHILE IM DRIVING ADILYN GARCIA!!

Adilyn: Athena turn around and head home.

Adrian: what? What about Cora and Zane?

Me: I'm right here Adrian. I'm at the house with Zane right now.

Adrian: Cora?!! Are you ok?

Me: I'm fine not hurry up!

Adilyn: we'll be there in about 2 hours.

Me: ok and Adilyn?

Adilyn: yeah?

Me: I love you

Adilyn: I love you too mom.

At least the old man wasn't dead. But how he's been alive for 3000 years will be explained in chapter 14.
