Chapter 19- Funeral

Bruh I should be asleep right now. And sadly my dad didn't come home today. Turns out he won't be here until tomorrow morning because if he did come, he'd arrive late at night and my mom would have to wake up and go pick him up from the flying j. We have a bumpy ass dirt road and his semi won't do well gettin down here. Plus we're downhill and gonna get a hell of a lot of rain for the next week. So by this Sunday when he leaves, his truck will be stuck. It really pisses me off how I only see him 2-3 days a week.

Coras pov:

I heard screams and sobs from outside the door. I set Kit down and opened it. I went out into the hall where I saw Julian, Dylan, and my dad all lying on the floor. Not moving. Adilyn was sitting next to Julian and Dylan crying her eyes out as she held the helpless little Bandit. Adrian stood near with sadness and regret on his face. Athena stood next to him crying and the others kept their heads held down. They turned and looked at me as if I had the answer to all of this.

I walked closer to Julian and Dylan's bodies and sure enough, they were dead. A stake to the heart. Everything inside of me dropped and I fell to the floor as tears flowed down my cheeks. I stayed there for what felt like hours until I couldn't cry anymore. I retreated to my room and just laid in bed. I was completely numb and it took everything inside of me not to burn this house to the ground, with everyone inside of it. Kitty jumped up on the bed and looked at me with her sparkling kitten eyes. I laughed sadly and she whined as she came closer and snuggled her tiny body into the crook of my neck.

Shortly, Kitty fell asleep and I followed not too long after. Her fur is so fluffy and soft it'll make you fall asleep within seconds. It's like having a big furry panda bear only tiny and miniature.

Adrians pov:

My heart broke into a million pieces the minute Cora broke down. And I get it. Dylan and Julian were her family for the longest time and she loved them with everything she had. Cora and Adilyn went back to their rooms and played with the kittens. Athena went to Julian and Dylan's room with Bandit. God I can't imagine going through that kind of grief.

The guys dealt with the bodies while Melinda and Mariana cleaned up. We took the lifeless bodies to the room we held Lisa in and covered them up until cora, Adilyn, and Athena said what they want to do with them. I'd assume a funeral but we aren't going to make any decisions without their opinion.

We left the 3 girls to themselves and stayed in the living room. We didn't bother to make conversation and try to cheer each other up. We just sat there, silently, and enjoyed each other's dreadful company. We didn't know what to do because we haven't lost someone we've spent over 2000 years with. And I hope we never have to feel that pain.

A while later, Athena and Adilyn come walking in and taking seats on a small 2 person sofa. Adilyn leans onto athenas shoulder and we build up the strength to even manage a hello.

"What are we gonna do about Lisa?" Samuel asks, breaking the deadly silence. Honestly, we're just going with the flow. Although I don't think Cora should be alone right now if Lisa can teleport. But I'm sure she'll be fine at handling herself, she doesn't like being smothered anyway so I can't necessarily stick to her side.

"I don't know yet, that's all on Cora which means we're going to be waiting a while for a plan. This is too much stress as it is and we can't add anymore onto her." Athena says firmly. We decide to send it Adilyn to at least figure out what to do with the bodies. She returns around 10 minutes later and informs us that Cora wants a funeral and Julian and Dylan's ashes. Adilyn and Athena agree with the idea and we get started.

Coras pov:

I fight myself to get out of bed but Kittys adorable little eyes do the trick. I swear it's like she can read my mind and automatically knows what's going on. Exactly why I'm taking her to the funeral. Unlike bandit, Kit doesn't go running off. Yeah she runs around like Biscuit, but they both stay close. I feel like having Kit with me will cheer me up and help keep me together.

I throw on some black leggings, a black sweatshirt and some black boots. I don't have the strength to get in a dress and do anything to myself. I put my messy and dry hair into a messy bun and go downstairs with my kitten. I walk outside and see an entire funeral set up. There was a black table and in front was one single grave with my dads body in it. I took one last look at him and then pulled the sheet over his face. On the table, we're Julian and Dylan's ashes in jars side by side with a picture of them sitting against the jars. They were in a line like the ground had 3 graves but instead it was one. We stood in silence for a while and we couldn't take much more so we filled the grave with dirt, and took the ashes to a nearby pond. It was Julian and Dylan's favorite place so we wanted to spread their ashes there. We retreated back to the house and as we walked up to the porch, my mother stood facing us.

"You ruin our lives and then you crash our best friends and my dads funeral? What the hell is the matter with you?" I ask growing furious. She has done nothing but cause hell upon our family and friends and I've had enough.

"I'm going to fulfill my goal, no matter who I have to kill. So I suggest your pesky little friends back off my dear. Unless you want to lose more people you hold close to your black soulless heart." She says and disappears into thin air. I go back up to my room without so much as one word and force myself to go to sleep. Sleep is my getaway, it takes my problems and pain. It's where I feel safe and peaceful. I won't let her take any more from me.

🥺 I so hated everything about chapter 18 and 19. Theyre so sad and depressing. It's hard when you write in deaths of close family and friends because you put your emotion into it. That's if you're one of those types of writers. Well I'm going to sleep now so chapter 20 is going to have to wait until tomorrow. Goodnight lovelies.
