Ekio sits quietly on her bed, her head in her hands as she takes deep breaths and thinks everything over. Her first day at UA is today and she has no idea what to expect. Her brother goes to the same school, entering his third year while she enters her first. But she hasn't spoken to her brother in years so she has never gotten to ask him about the school.
She sighs and pulls her head up from her hands and stands up, ready to go. She straightens out her uniform and looks into the mirror, making sure everything is in place. She leans in closely to make sure her white contacts accurately cover her eyes and don't flash her gold or blue eyes to everyone.
Life living with heterochromatic eyes. She breaths in and picks up her bag, rushing out of her room and out of her apartment. She makes her way down the stairs quickly and onto the street, she always aims to be early to wherever she is going, being late draws attention to her.
Attention is something she doesn't want.
She walks towards the bus stop, aiming to catch the early bus. She takes a deep breath again and sighs heavily. She glances around the street, looking for anyone who could be lurking around in the early morning.
The sun is still rising and it's relatively dark, within the next half an hour the sun will be up and people will be moving around. Ekio just needs to make it to school before then. She hops onto the bus and slips into the first empty seat.
Walking to the end of the bus might cause someone to notice her. She stares out the window and watches the bus pull away from the curb and start its journey. In 30 minutes she will reach her stop and then walk 5 minutes to UA. She has her student card to get in.
Overall, she should be able to make it into the school with no interruption.
She hopes.
She leans back and relaxes a little. Ekio spends most of her time sitting around and thinking of things to do without people seeing her. Like going to the shops, but she has to wear a mask and a hat so they just think she is a germaphobe. She likes to wander around her apartment and read.
Sometimes, she just does push-ups all day, thinking and forgetting that she is. Sometimes sit-ups, other times squats. But when getting lost in her own thoughts she could be doing the most gruelling job and forget about it, it's how she works. She can be loud and obnoxious, but she is saving it all for someone special.
When she sees them again she is going to lose her absolute shit and let them have it.
The bus stops for the third time in the trip and a group of boys get on, all wearing the same uniform. They fill up the back of the bus, giving Ekio slight anxiety.
Kami forbid that someone has to sit next to her on the bus.
The bus moves again and she relaxes, hopefully, the bus doesn't have any more early dwellers or there might be a chance that someone might in fact, have to touch her leg by accident and speak to her.
She shakes her head slightly and continues thinking about what she can do at lunch and where she can sit that means she doesn't interact with anyone. She hates eating with people, the more she speaks the more they get to her.
She generally just hates people.
Especially her brother.
She leans her head against the window and closes her eyes, listening to the low chatter of the boys at the back of the bus. She didn't recognise their uniform and she doesn't care either. The bus passes an empty stop and puts Ekio to rest. She will get away with it this time.
