Rachel POV
I woke up in the arms of my boyfriend, Dominic. I don't think I'll ever get used to calling him that. I was snuggled up in his chest. His bare chest, may I add.
You may think I wanted to sleep with Dom, just because I wanted to, right? Well, wrong. For a long time now, I have been having night terrors. And they're not nightmares. No, they're way worse. For a while, they have been calm. Only occasional, but for some reason, I had one that night.
I had night terrors for two reasons. One, when I was really little and after Dominic left, I would always dream that he came back. Everything would be good for a while, but in the end, he always died. It scared the shit out of me. What was even worse, was that it was the same dream over and over again. It never ceased to scare me though.
The dream went like this: Dominic and I are 9 years old. We were walking in a field. The grass was at least 2 feet long and there were flowers surrounding us. We were laughing, playing tag. I had tagged him so now it was his turn to tag me. When he finally got me, he said, "Ha! I tagged you!" He smirked in victory, while I gave him a sour look. He saw it and apologized. "I'm sorry, RachyBear. Do you wanna tag me instead?" Dominic was the most competitive guy in the world, but when it came to me, it's like his competitve side would vanish and his caring side would bubble to the surface.
I laughed. "It's ok, Dommy. Just give me a hug." I said, as I stretched out my arms for him. He tackled me in a hug, as we fell to the grassy bottom. We were in laughing fits, us in each other's arms. It was perfect.
We laid there, for I don't know how long. Dominic said he wanted to watch the clouds, so we watched clouds. I giggled when Dominic pointed out things like shoes, turtles, or ducks. I was still looking at the sky, but then I wanted to turn to Dominic. He looked so tranquil.
"Dom." I said, wanting to get his attention.
"Yeah, Rach?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too." He smiled at me. We laid there again, in a calming silence. I turned to Dominic, when I heard rapid breathing. He looked terrified.
"Dominic, what's wrong?" I asked him. This has never happened. I thought it was a joke at first, but then I saw his eyes. Fear. It seemed as though, he was looking at something. I looked up and saw what it was. It was a cloud of a crow. I don't know why he was so scared of a cloud.
I looked back at him. "Dommy, it's just a cloud." As I said that, he started to shake. "Dommy! Please, just calm down! It's not real!" He stopped, suddenly, and looked at me.
"It is real." And when he said that. a black figure loomed out of the sky, at rapid speeds. It was a crow and it was coming straight towards us. I panicked and tried to move me and Dom, but it was as if we were glued down to the ground. Stuck.
It was now at least 30 feet away, when I realized something. It wasn't coming towards us. It was coming towards Dominic.
I think he realized the inevitable and looked at me. "I'm gonna die, RachyBear. I will never forget you. I love-" He was cut off by the impact of the crow. I hadn't noticed before, but this bird brought a whole fleet of crows. They were attacking him, eating off his flesh. I cried.
"DOMINIC! NO!" I finally yelled. The birds flew away and all that was left was bones and his locket. I brought the necklace to my chest and screamed like a banshee.
Then, I woke up. Every time I did, I would immediately sit up and scream, like there was no tomorrow. It was petrifying and my sister would always come in and cradle me, but it never helped. Tears would stream down my face and I felt weightless, like the life was sucked out of me like a vacuum. The only people who knew about this were my family, Kayla, and Niall.
