Rachel POV
"Rachel! Wake up! Today you have school! And if you don't get up in 5 seconds, I will come over there and pour cold water all over you like last time!" I immediately got up.
"Damn." I mumbled.
"What did you say?!" My mother yelled.
"I said I'm up!!" I yelled back, frantically. If she knew I said that she would probably yell at me, until my ears bleed.
"That's what I thought." Ugh. This sucks. Balls.
Today was the first day school. Yayyy. (note my sarcasm) School is actually alright, I just don't wanna do the work. Kind of ironic since I'm a straight A student. I have a fair amount of friends, but my absolute best friend is Kayla. Kayla moved here from Virginia, a year after Dominic left.
It took some time to open up to her, but it felt as if I could trust her with anything. I ended up telling her the whole story after a month of knowing her.
When she came to my house, my mom let her in, while I was in my room crying. I looked at the locket I never took off and I just bursted in tears. I guess Kayla heard because while I was sobbing. She just wrapped her arms around me and whispered sweet nothings into my ears. It was very calming.
After I stopped crying, she asked me what happened and I told her the whole story. When I finished, she looked at me with so much sorrow in her eyes. She actually cared.
The only people who really cared were my parents and my sister, Rebecca, but I called her Becky. Every time I cried at night she would come into my room and hug me and tell me everything will be ok until I finally fell asleep.
"I'm so sorry, Rachel. So, so, so, sorry."
After that, we became best friends instantly. Whenever she slept over, it was like she was my Becky. And that's why I loved her. She was also really cool. She has really dark brown hair that looked almost black, but she would always tell everyone it was brown and if you kept on asking her she would slap you. Literally. I had a little red hand mark on my face from asking her about 5 more times, thinking she was bluffing, but she obviously wasn't.
She's also really outgoing and so funny that she'll make you squirt milk out of your nose. Kayla is Hispanic and knows a lot of Spanish now that she took a lot of Spanish classes. She also plays violin and the drums. Did I forget to mention that she's loud as hell!
Now, I'm getting ready for school. Ugh. I always had trouble picking out my clothes. I just settled with a 5sos T-Shirt and some skinny jeans. My hair was a curly mess a usual, but Kayla said that it was "God's Gift". I simply laughed in her face. She was so weird.
Ever since Kayla and I got our liscences, we would take turns driving each other to school. This week was Kayla's week.
After I was ready I decided to text her.
To: Koala <3
Hey, my little Koala! I'm ready, so get your Hispanic Ass over here XD love you. xx
From: Koala <3
Jesus Christ Ratchet! Calm your tits! I'll be there in 5 mins. Now calm down or I will slap you and you know I will ;) love you 2. xx
True to her word, I heard pounding on my front door.
"Bye, mom! Love you!"
"Bye, Baby! Love you and tell Kayla I hope she has a good day at schol and that I love her!"
"Alright byeeee!"
I open the door and saw my best friend. I rushed at her and hugged her hard. "Hey, Koala! I missed you so much!" I really did miss her.
"Rachel, we literally hung out and stayed at my house on Saturday, which was 2 days ago." She said with a chuckle, but hugged me back.
"Well, I don't really care. Let's just go to the hell hole they call school and get this over with." I retorted, trying to keep in my laughter, but not for long, as I hear Kayla's laugh. She sounded like a mix of a hyena and walrus. No one could resist that laugh.
"Shut up or we'll be late. Get in the car."
"Geez. Someone's pushing today." I said, while laughing.
"Rachel. I wasn't kidding about that slap." She replied calmy, yet with warning. Well, that shut me up.
at school
We arrived at school 10 mins before we're late. We quickly saw what homeroom we're in and see that it's Mr. Belmont.
"Come on, or we'll be late" I told Kayla.
"Mmmhmm" she mumbled in agreement. We got there right before the bell goes off and took our seats.
"Rachel Evans" He said.
"Here" I said and raised my hand so he knows I'm here.
Right before he calls another name a very handsome guy knocks on the door and walks in the room. He was tall, had very good hair, and had something around his neck.
My breath hitched when I realized what it was. A locket. But it wasn't just any locket. No. It was a heart locket identical to mine. I knew who the mystery boy was.
"Dominic?"
