Rachel POV
"Dominic?" I asked, without thinking.
He immediately turned around and our eyes locked. Oh my God. I forgot how gorgeous his eyes really were. They were like deep pools of chocolate. And I just got lost in them.
I don't know how long we were staring at each other, but then I heard an awkward cough. It was Mr. Belmont. "Erm, if you don't mind, I would like to become acquainted to out new student. What is your name, sir?" He asked politely.
"Dominic Butler, sir. Nice to meet you. I'm guessing you're Mr. Belmont?"
"Yes, that is me. Well, now that I know who you are, you can take a seat wherever you like." He finished with a smile.
Oh shit. There's a seat right next to me. What if I get too nervous and start to stutter like crazy or even worse, throw up on him. Nope. That will not happen. I will not allow it, or else I will be scarred for the rest of my life.
"Is this seat taken?" Dominic asked. Wow. His voice got deeper and it was pretty hot.
I realized that I hadn't said a word yet, so I quickly said "No! No, it's not taken at all!" Rachel you're an idiot! I thought to myself while mentally face palming myself. What am I going to do with myself?
"Well, for starters you can talk to me and tell me how you've been." There was that sexy voice again. Oh shit, did I say my thought out loud?
"Yes, yes you did. And you think my voice is sexy?"
"Ugh. Ugh- Well. Uhhh." Wow, Rachel. What type of language was that? Stupidness, Rachel. Just stupidness.
"I happen to think your language is cute."
"Jesus Christ, Dominic! Are you like psychic or something?" I am not even kidding. Can he read minds?
"No. You just like to say your thoughts out loud. You always did that when we were little." He added with a genuine smile.
"Please, just forget that this all happened. This is so embarrassinnnnnng." I said as I dropped my head on my desk with a grunt.
"Awwww. RachyBear. Don't be like that. Don't worry. You wanna start again?" He asked, but he wasn't joking this time. He actually meant it. My stomach started to fill with butterflies as I realized that he called by my nickname. No one ever called me that after he left. It was just too much.
"I have a question first." I said with confidence. Where did that come from?
"Shoot." Dom said coolly
"How can you be so calm? We literally haven't seen each other for 8 years and hear I am, a stuttering mess, while you're as cool as a cucumber. Did you not miss me?" The last part is almost a whisper, but I knew he heard because he immediately sat upright in desk.
"Rachel. Look at me." He said with such gentleness, yet I couldn't move. "Rachel." Dominic said a little bit more firmer, but this time he lifted up my chin with two fingers and now he was looking into my eyes. My breath hitched.
"I'm looking at you" I said bluntly.
"I could never stop missing you. Ever since I moved to California, I never took off my locket and whenever I would miss you, I would look at my locket and make a promise to myself to see that beautifully weird face that was my best friend. I may look cool now, but on the inside I'm freaking out so hard, that I might explode. So, Rachybear no, I am not as cool as a cucumber. I'm even worse than you." He chuckled while he booped my nose.
"Hey! Remember what I said when we were younger? No booping of the noses or else I will bite your finger!" I said trying to keep a straight face. I surprisingly managed.
