Qibli gawked at the glowing pink crystal. "So you find some huge fucking crystal and don't even tell us?" Winter asked, glaring at Kinkajou. "Well I wasn't sure how you all would react, and you know some people would do anything to get their hands on a massive crystal!" Kinkajou answered, climbing onto a tall rock shelf. Moon lightly touched the crystal, giving a small smile. "How long have you known about the crystal?" Qibli asked, examining it closely. "Well, I found it last night after moon had gone home." Kinkajou said, shuffling things around on the rock shelf, dangling her legs over the ledge. "And you've already started camping out in here?" Qibli teased, noticing there were blankets, pillows, and books sprawled around the cave.
"Well since my parents are still out of town," Kinkajou said, pushing everything in a small pile in a hole that went farther back on the ledge. "And my grandparents don't fully care where I am. And this crystal is beautiful!" She brushed a bit of dust off the crystal.
"Well is there a reason you have an axe?" Winter asked, poking an axe in a log. "Well I told my grandpa about the cave — of course I left out the crystal part — and he said I should take his old axe for protection." Kinkajou said, stacking a couple of books and putting them in a corner. "Does he really trust you, of all people, with an axe?" Winter asked again. "Well, I've been practicing!" Kinkajou said, pointing to a few chopped logs in another corner. Qibli let out a small laugh, rubbing part of the crystal. Qibli checked his phone, seeing that it was now 5:09 pm. "It's dinner time, I think I should get going." Qibli said, putting his phone back into his pocket. "Oh! I promised my mother I'd help un-pack." Moon said, heading for the cave exit, with Qibli and Winter behind. "My grandma said I had to help sort through old pictures." Kinkajou said, jogging up to them.

Qibli carefully leaned his bike against the side of his house, walking up the three stairs to the door. He assumed his mother was at work as he headed upstairs to his room. He chucked his bag at the wall as he rolled onto his bed. Well that's weird. Qibli thought, suddenly feeling extremely tired. He sat up, rubbing his face. Probably just tired from school. Hah, and I thought some weird crystal was making me tired. Qibli chuckled to himself.
His phone buzzed with a text from Kinkajou. I found this funny looking picture of  my grandparents! And a picture of her grandparents wearing fake mustaches was attached.
His phone buzzed again, this time it was a text from Winter. Oh? Prince Salt's actually texting me? I HAVE A FUCKING PAIR OF WINGS AND A TAIL-
Did you really think I'd believe that?
A minute later a photo of a scared looking Winter with white wings and a tail was sent.
Should I come over-
OF COURSE YOU NEED TO GET OVER HERE
Qibli darted down stairs and outside.

Come on winter open the door- Qibli thought as he rang the doorbell a few times. The door opened just enough for Winter toyank Qibli in. "What the hell-" Qibli muttered as Winter put his hands in his hair, looking as if he was about to cry. Qibli could see tips of horns already trying to escape from Winter's head. "How the hell did this happen?-" Qibli asked, noticing that Winter's tail had spikes at the tip. And his wings were slowly becoming massive. "DO YOU THINK I DO?" Winter shouted, pacing in a circle. "Oh god oh god oh god oh god-" Winter muttered, crossing his arms. "Wait, I think it could've been from that crystal!" Qibli said, snapping his fingers. "Maybe from touching it or being around it made this happen!"                                           "Well how do I get this to stop happening?!" Winter asked, managing to spread his right wing. "Well, that I haven't figured out yet." Qibli said, Winter's horns now arched and sharp.
