it's been a week since Daniel came home and we found an awesome school for Lily to go to
we just told her about it and now she's screaming and crying
"Lily Blair Seavey STOP it!"
"but mommy school is not fun i don't want to go"
"you don't even know that it's so much fun right Daniel"
"yeah i loved school me and mommy met!"
"i don't care i don't want to go. you can't make me!"
"you have to though. me and daddy will get in trouble if not"
"but what if people are mean to me"
"they won't be and if they are we will fix it. it's not for a while so please just relax."
"fine but i still don't want to go" she runs away upstairs and i turn to daniel
"what if she never wants to go to school what will we do"
"she will i promise let's just not worry about it tonight. by the way i have a surprise for you"
"what is it?"
"so Corbyn is going to have Lily sleepover his house and so we're going on a date"
"why?"
"cause i want to go on a date with my wife"
"oh well where are we going?"
"that's a surprise"
"but daniel you can't drive? how will we get there?"
"exactly"

"well it's kind of in our backyard. i already set it up"

"you're so amazing ugh i love you" i hug him and he holds me tightly
"i love you too! i know ever since I got back from tour we haven't really had time to do anything together because of Lily and my foot but I really miss just being with you"
"aw Dani i'm going to cry"

"sorry sorry. so how is your foot feeling?" i ask sitting down
"it's really hurting but they're going to refill my pain medicine soon"
"well that's good. do you think you're getting healed"
"not really my foot is always numb and hurting and the only time it will go away is when i take the medicine or i'm sleeping"
"aw i'm so sorry i wish i could help you"
"well just being near me letting me look at your beautiful face helps the most"
"mhm sure. do you think Lily's fine now"

we walk upstairs and go into her playroom where she's just sitting on a chair rocking
"baby what are you doing?" i ask her
"thinking. i don't wanna go to school it's scary"
i kneel down next to her and grab her hand
"i promise you it's not scary. its going to be fun because you're going into preschool where you play all day long. but even though it's going to be fun, you don't have to worry about it for now you still have a few months. if when you go you don't like it and people are mean we will take you out and try somewhere else okay"
"okay i'm sorry i yelled at you and daddy"
"it's okay go tell daddy that, he has a surprise for you"
she gets up and walks over to Daniel hugging him
"sorry daddy i yelled"
"don't worry baby.. i have something to tell you"

"you're going to sleep over Corbyn's house tonight so me and mommy can have alone time"
