we just got back from the hospital and daniels tour and sure enough, he broke his foot
the good thing about this is he definitely can't leave now and go somewhere so I have him all to myself
also, I get to take care of him, and all around it's a great time
he and lily are taking a nap while I make dinner and it's nice to know they're spending time together... even if they aren't awake
as I start a timer for the food I hear a bunch of groaning and bumping coming from the stairs
I look over and see Daniel trying to walk down the stairs
"need help?" I ask
"yes please. these stupid crutches make it so hard to get down these stairs"
"well to be fair you aren't supposed to be moving seeing as you just got that cast on a few hours ago"
"oh well, I don't care I wanna spend some time with you before Lily wakes up. I already know as soon she's up she's not gonna leave us alone"
"true" I help him down the stairs and bring him over to the couch to lay down, putting the tv on afterward
"I can't believe I broke my foot"
"I'm not very surprised I always feel like you're gonna break something"
"wow you have no faith in me"
"I really don't," I say laughing
I lay in his lap and he puts a movie on
"I missed you so much," he says playing with my hair as we watch the movie
"I missed you too but I'm just happy that you're back and you're staying. how long till you leave again"
"well we aren't starting writing or recording or anything like that for a month or two and then we're not going on a tour for another year. and with my foot, I'll probably not be going to any of those things for a little bit"
"so that's good you get a break for your foot to heal"
"yup and I get to spend my break being helped by the hottest nurse ever"
"oh great now I have to take care of two children"
"look on the bright side... I'm hot"
"that is a very very bright side" we laugh and I hear the timer go off
"what's that?" daniel asks
"food... it's dinner ugh I don't wanna get up"
"I'll go get it"
"no you're broken I'm just lazy" I stretch and get up to finish everything
"okay daniel it's ready to get over here while I wake up lily"
"ugh can you bring me my crutches they're too far away"
"I suppose" I bring him the crutches and on my way back Lily comes downstairs
"Mommy," she says pulling on my hand
"oh hi lily"
"is it dinner I'm hungry"
"it is, go to the table I need to help daddy"
"ooo I help him too" she runs over and grabs daniel hand
"don't worry daddy I'll bring you safely to the table so you can eat"
"thank you, Lily"
they get over to the table and I bring the food
"I've missed your cooking so much," Daniel says eating
"isn't mommy the best cook ever. she makes everything so so yummy"
"she does. so Lily we need to find you a school so you can become smart"
"Oh daddy I'm already smart I don't need school," she says patting his arm
"well you need to be extra smart"
"ugh, I don't want to go to school. I like staying home and playing with mommy"
"hey what about playing with me too"
"you're not home enough to play with me. anyways momma can we have movie night tonight"
"of course what movie do you want to watch"
"I don't know you decide I always choose"
"how about we have daddy choose"
"ooo yeah Daddy you choose the movie... and by the way, I will NOT be going to school"
"we'll talk about that"
