CHAPTER TWO

"Madam, ito na po iyong mga materyales na kakailanganin ninyo." Sabi ng sekretarya ko na kakagaling sa mall para bumili ng mga materials para makapag-sketch akong muli.

"Sige, salamat. Paki-ayos mo nalang diyan sa mesa ko, kukunin ko maya-maya." Inangat ko ang tingin ko sakanya bago bumalik sa pagkakadesinyo ng iba't-ibang dresses para sa Philippines Auction ng mga damit sa November 25 at July 21 na ngayon. Kahit malayo pa ang buwan na iyon ay kailangan ko pang masimulan dahil sa mga sunod-sunod na ang nagiging kliyente ko sa Pilipinas.

I thought more times on planning to build my clothing branch sa Pilipinas. I was just thinking, somehow, my friends are going back to the Philippines. I do not want to be left alone, 'cause where my friends are: doon din dapat ako.

Para rin naman may pag-aabalahan ako doon pag nandoon ako kasi minsan may emergency. Kaya noong nakaraang February ay nagpatayo na ako ng building ng Golden Elegance sa Manila. It's just 3 floors: the third floor is my office while the first floor and second floor are the shopping area. The first floor have the casual clothes, casual shoes, hats, bags and other street clothes while the second floor was where the formal clothes, gowns, shoes, bags and other accessories are there.

I last went to Philippines with my daughter months ago before we came back here in Paris for I still have to ran some errands here, I need to work harder so I could finally go home in the Philippines with my daughter for the second time. It's been so long years na hindi ako nanirahan sa Pilipinas. 

I am a designer with a heart. Gusto kong maka-inspire ng maraming tao, gusto kong ibahagi ang mga collections ko and so on. Since I was a kid, I love arts and fashions, being a fashion designer was my dream at walang sino man ang hahadlang sa pangarap ko.

Hanggang sketch nalang ako noon ng clothes and gowns until I gave birth with my little mini me. Doon ako nagkaroon ng lakas loob na magtayo ng business sa kabila ng pagod at sakit na dinaranas ko. With the help of my grandma, and friends... I owned a small store but was enough to display the clothes. Hanggang sa sumikat siya paunti-unti dito sa Paris. Marami-rami naring nagrecommend ng shop and designs ko saka marami rin iyong umorder kaya lumago ang business ko.

It was unexpected, akala ko na kahit hanggang small business lang pero hindi ko inaasahang lumalaki ang savings ko per month kaya nag-ipon ako. Akalain mo iyon, naitaguyod ko ang Golden Elegance company ko sa taong 24 bago lumago after two years.

Six years ago, my life was in chaos, my mom died in heart attack because of the stress that I caused in our family. The day after my mom left us was the day that I learned that I was pregnant.

Hindi ko namalayan na may tumutulo palang luha sa aking mata kung hindi iyon pinunasan ng anak ko. Doon din ako natauhan na may ni-i-isketch pala ako!

"Mommy? You okay? Why are you crying?" Nag-aalalang tanong ng anak ko.

I cleared my throat and smiled at my daughter. "Mommy's okay, it's just that I thought about my mom again, your lola."

Nakangiti parin siya habang pinupunasan ang luha ko. "Mom? I know my lola's happy as she sees us from heaven and also she loves you." Tumango ako bilang pagsang-ayon, pumikit at hinawakan ang kamay niya sa magkabila kong pisngi. "You said she's happy now in heaven, right? So stop na mommy..." Napangiti ako at hinawakan siya sa magkabilang pisngi.

"Yes darling. I know my mom is happy now. She'll always be our angel." Ani ko.

"Yeah." Ngumiti siya. I kissed my daughter's forehead before hugging her tightly but it's still enough for her not to hurt.
