CHAPTER FIFTEEN

"Doctor Adrian Vergara, please be seated."

Tumango ako atsaka umupo sa harapan niya nang kalmado. I need to be.

"So..." He trailed off. "You said, my daughter is in a relationship with you?"

I nodded. "Yes sir."

"Why don't you just go straight to the point? What do you want?" He asked, he squinted his eyes while sipping on his coffee.

Napangiti ako saka ipinatong ang mga kamay ko sa mesa. "Simple, sir."

He raised his eyebrows at me. "What is it? The time is ticking, young man." Sabi niya at tumingin sa orasan niya.

"I came here to talk to you because I want to help you fix your healthy relationship with your daughter back, also I want your presence inside our house for family dinner and because your presence is needed while I'll propose to her."

"Hmm..." Ibinaba ang tasang hawak saka humalukipkip at sumandal sa kinauupuan. Tiningnan ako mata sa mata. "My daughter just announced a big bomb months ago where in she admitted that she has a daughter, I guessed you are aware of that?" Now, he became serious that I cannot help but to gulp from time to time.

"Yes sir. I am very much aware of that."

He smirked playfully. "Then why not leave her alone, young man. You have a brighter future ahead of you. You are a doctor and your rich, so..."

Palihim king kinuyom ang kamao ko sa ibaba ng mesa, ngumiti nalang. "I don't care about that, sir. All I care is to be with my soon to be wife and my daughter, Rheana."

"Oh, inaako mo na ang anak niya."

I cussed inwardly. "Rheana is Yen and I's daughter, sir." Magalang kong sagot kahit sa katunayan ay naiinis ako sa paraan ng pagtanong niya. It seems like he's trying to tell me something, it's either to leave her daughter and granddaughter or to test me.

"Oh, But you're not the father." He teased.

I smirked slyly. "But I am the real father, it was me who met her in that bar, sir."

He chuckled lowly. "Oh, the real father huh? If you're just playing with me, young man. Better fck off, you will just say that and would let me believe but in the future. You will just hurt her and do not ever claim my granddaughter as yours when you don't want to take responsibility of it."

Tumayo siya at tinalikuran ako bago lumabas sa cafe. Minura ko ang sarili ko sa isip bago ako tumawag ng waiter at binayaran ang kinuha namin. Sinundan ko nang tingin ang kotse niyang papalayo bago iyon sinundan. I promised to myself that I'll do everything just to make my wife happy.

As I was following his car, I think he notices it that's why he did all he can to ran away from me. Baka akala niya sa akin ay isa akong desperado, pero wala akong pakialam dahil iyon ang totoo.

I need his blessings, his approval, his opinion of me and above all, I want to help them fix their healthy father-daughter relationship.

Sinundan ko siya nang sinundan hanggang sa iniliko niya sa isang daan, kung saan hindi gaano ang pumupuntang sasakyan doon, sa gilid ng kalsada ay may matatayog na mga damo.
