"I'm sorry, WHAT?" I exclaimed, "You want me to actually... what?" I was completely blown away. We were welcoming our abuser into our home?!
"Yes, Y/N, I want you to make him a coffee. Stay away from those four," he jolted his head, signalling to them, and followed after Pierce.
I stood still in my place for a moment, replaying back the events of the last five minutes, to ensure I had heard Bucky correctly. Make the man a coffee?
Despite feeling my blood boiling as it churned through my body, I decided I wouldn't cause anymore of a scene then what had been caused, and make the coffee. I didn't even think twice about making Bucky or I one, because I didn't want Pierce in my house any longer than necessary.
I walked into the living room to find Bucky's hands clasped around Pierce's neck. My eyes widened and I placed the mug on the side table, before rushing over.
*Idiot* I thought to myself as I pulled Bucky away.
"Let's not do that," I said, as Bucky pushed himself back onto the sofa.
I took the mug and placed it in front of Pierce and felt his eyes watch me back to my seat. I sat beside Bucky, but not too close. It wasn't much of a secret of how we lived, given my current outfit, but I wasn't going to project it onto Pierce.
"So, what is it you want?" I managed to speak without my voice breaking, or my eyes watering.
"I'm glad you asked. In fact, me and James were just talking about that. I still find it hard to believe you remembered on your own. I really did think I had the best technology," Pierce thought out loud.
I ignored him, completely, only focusing on one particular thing, "So what do you want?" I repeated.
"Ah yes... you," Pierce sat forward and took his mug.
I felt Bucky's muscles tensen beside me, knowing he wanted nothing more than to rip Pierce to shreds.
"Sorry, what?" I asked, not sure if I heard him correctly.
He looked directly at me, and I felt his eyes lingering on my face, "You, Y/N. Now that I know The Winter Soldier has slowly began to overpower me, regaining his control and memories, I figured he is no more than leverage to me anymore."
"How is he leverage?" I asked, processing everything slowly.
"You care dearly for James," He took a quick look at how closely Bucky and I sat, and our outfits, "And so if you don't come with me, then it will have to be him."
"Whenever you're ready, we can go," Bucky said, his voice deep and painful.
"What? No! Neither of us are going with you. I thought you said you meant no harm!" I said, raising my voice.
"And I don't..."
I grew angry, "Well, this is harmful! Me and James we have built a life together, a happy life. And for you to tear it apart will cause nothing but harm and pain."
Bucky placed his hand on my knee, but I shook it off, standing, "No. I refuse to be your puppet anymore. I am not going to take your shit and if you want to do something about it, then go ahead. But I will not let you without a fight..."
I realised I had spilled all of my thoughts into one very long speech, that had done me and Bucky no good. I felt his eyes move away from my body, and to the floor, hurt. And Pierce simply stood.
"A fight? Now who is the one who means harm, Y/N. Look at you. You are becoming a monster, a person searching for violence..." Pierce kept his voice calm, but it only built up my rage.
