Me and Unbalance were training. We had been for about half an hour now. He lunged at me again, so I grabbed his arm and flung him away, using his own momentum to make him go farther. He slid to a stop and spun back around to stare at me. Orange King and and Rainbow Steve were watching from the bench in front of the temple. We had repaired the front side of it, as well as the ground that had been destroyed. It had been quite a shock for them to come back to a half destroyed temple and another Balancer. But they seemed fine with it, so there wasn't any problems at the moment. Unbalance rushed me again, and this time I held out my arm, ready to use my Balancer Energy. He did the same, and just before he reach me, we both focused in on each other. What I've learned from using these powers as that I seem to be able to connect to certain things. I seem to be able to connect to a lot of things, but only slightly, as well as an extremely strong connection to the light, or anything that is light. I can connect to things like other Light Steves, things that glow, and partially to sun light. Unbalance seemed to have an extremely powerful connection to the dark. He could sense any sort of darkness in people, as well as control it. The way we connect to things is we have to focus on what we're connecting to. Once we do, we sense if there's anything inside that we can balance. That's what we were doing now. I focused in on his Balancer Energy, and he focused in on mine. We tried connecting to the other's energy, and it happened. An extreme bolt of pain ran through both of us, and we immediately pulled our energies back. Unbalance went right past me, falling flat on his face. I stumbled and fell to one knee, gritting my teeth.

"Guys!" Orange King and Rainbow yelled. They both jumped up and ran over to us. Rainbow extended his hand down to Unbalance, but he ignored it and stood up on his own. Orange King went to me and offered his hand, and I took it. As I stood, the weird, tingling pain went away.

"What the heck happened!" Orange King asked. I wasn't quite sure. Both me and Unbalance seemed to experience the same thing at the same time. As far as I was aware, the only thing we had done was try to connect to each others balancer Energy, so what would have caused that pain? 'Unless...' I thought, and then I figured it out.

"I don't think Balancer Energies can mix." I answered. Unbalance and Rainbow walked over to us.

"What do you mean?" Rainbow asked, confused. "I thought that it was the same energy." I had thought so as well, but now I was realizing that they weren't. Although me and Unbalance both had Balancer Energy, they weren't exactly the same. Mine had combined with Light Energy, and his had combined with Dark Energy. That meant they were different. And it seemed that different types of Balancer Energy don't do well with one another. I decided to answer Rainbow in simpler terms.

"I have Light Balancer Energy, and he has Dark Balancer Energy." I gestured at Unbalance. "It looks like that different kinds of the energy don't do well mixing." Orange King and Unbalance nodded, while Rainbow still looked confused. I didn't have time to think of an even easier explanation. "It doesn't matter right now. We have to go to the main islands to check up on things." They all nodded, and I closed my eyes to teleport. When I opened my eyes I was standing under the pavilion, but things were slightly different. There was scaffolding scattered around the area, and some of the roof was missing. It didn't look destroyed, it was to clean for that. I would guess that it was being renovated. That wasn't important right now. What was important was making sure no-one was causing any problems. The others appeared with me, and we started walking towards the fountain. Along the way we ran into a bunch of people I had met over the past several weeks.

"Hi Balance!" said Creativity Steve. He was white, similar to a Light Steve. He had splotches of color all across him, like paint splashed on a blank canvas.

"Hey there." said Goldie, nodding as we passed by each other. I wasn't one hundred percent sure what she was, but she seemed to be very similar to a Gold Alex.
