The three of us ran through the forest without looking back. We dodged trees and jumped over holes. I couldn't hear anyone giving chase, but I wasn't willing to stop yet. After what felt like ten minutes of running, we came out of the forest and into a snowy tundra. Once our feet started sinking into the snow, we decided we had been running enough. We switched to a walk and began to go further into the frozen plain. Unknown Alex had her hands wrapped around her and was shivering slightly. Unknown Steve kept looking at all movement, whether it was a polar bear, arctic fox, or just moon light reflecting off the ice and snow. I didn't really know what to say. I had just caused them to have to run away from the only home they had ever known, even if it was definitely not a good one. It began to snow lightly, and the layers of snow raised a bit.
"At Least the flurry will cover our footprints." I finally said, breaking the silence. "The last thing we need is for them to follow us and take us back. Who knows what they'd do to us."
"Yhea.", Unknown Steve replied. "Empty would probably use it in his experiments." Unknown just nodded slightly and shuttered. As we continued to walk, we could just see the sun starting to rise in the horizon. But I had spent a lot of time in snowy tundra's. Especially back when i was trying to protect Sabre from Dark Steve. I don't know what happened to Sabre. Or Rainbow Steve. Or even if Dark Steve was still alive. The last time I had seen them was when they had taken me to Lucas's server. Back then I had no idea what that had meant. But my bosses had explained the concept to me, so I understood now. I had gotten in the machine, taken one last look at Sabre and Rainbow, and that was it. Apparently upon them turning on the machine, I had begun Gray Steve. After that, I hadn't seen either of them again. Kind of. Anyways, I knew a lot about snowy areas, so I knew that the sun coming up wouldn't make it much warmer. And I also knew that Alex probably needed to be warmed up. That's when I noticed an abandoned snow igloo not far away.
"Let's take a break in there," I said, pointing at the frozen structure. "It's best if we only travel at night anyway so as to not be seen.
"Good idea." Alex said between slightly chattering teeth. Steve just grunted and we began to walk towards it. I hadn't been lying. The two of them stuck out black wild flowers out in the white snow. We could keep going at night, when they bladed with the dark, and I blended with the snow a bit better.
When we got to the igloo, we all went silent, just in case there was something, or someone, in there. I slowly entered and looked around. It wasn't a large area, with just a crafting table, a furnace, and bead, some carpeting, and a single torch. I waved them in, and with the three of us in at once, it was pretty cramped. Luckily, my bosses had taught me about most structures that were around the overworld, so I wasn't surprised to find a trap door covering a ladder under one of the carpets. I gently lifted the old wooden door, and hinges creaked loudly. Alex looked over from looking inside the furnace. She was holding a piece of coal I assumed she had gotten out of the bottom section.
"Let's head down here." I told them. "It'll be warmer. Plus it'll be harder to find us down there. I grabbed the sides of the long ladder and slid all the way down to the bottom. The two unknowns slowly climbed down. I'm guessing this was the first time they had used the latter. I turned my head and noticed a chest and a brewing stand. I checked in the chest, and found some string, bread, some more coal, and a golden apple. I took the contents out and put them away in case they were needed later. Then I went to the brewing stand and found a splash potion of weakness. As I grabbed it and put it with my other new belongings, I realized there was something about this bottom stone brick room I had forgotten about. I wish I could have warned them what was in the charges before They had gotten to the bottom.
"AHHHH!" Unknown Alex screamed as the zombie villager banged on the bars and snarled at them. The villager in the other cage jumped surprisingly. I was surprised neither of them had made a sound when I had come in. Unknown Steve dashed forwards and drew out an iron sword and stabbed the zombified villager through the bars, he yanked the sword out and dashed to the other set of bars.
