You know when winter is coming. It leaves a path of destruction wherever it goes. But you see, it can give more than it takes, show you grace and beauty and peace if it wishes so; or it can hurt and cause the deepest of pains. I knew I would lose her, the moment I found her eyes through the crowd, I had a choice, and I chose her. The day I met her it was set in stone that I would lose her. That I would feel her absence deep in my soul. As the roots she planted there withered away with her. Our destinies were written in the stars long before this time. It is said that life is like a story, so now I'm going to tell you the story of my life. Her life.

No one had heard of y/n before; the god(ess) of love. Ironic since they have never been in love themself. They were loved and adored by all who met them, but no one was in love with them, and she had never been in love with anyone else either. The days she spent with the other Gods, were long and tedious. Each day the same as the one before. Spending their nights alone. Kept at arms-length by their brothers. Thor always had a soft spot for her. Of all those who fell at their feet, he had the greatest love for them by far. Even Loki loved them dearly, they could do no wrong by her.

Word spread of y/n and soon many came forth to claim her, hoping that love would follow suit. There were many wars fought for the hand of y/n. Eventually threats were sent to the Odinson's; since no one had received her hand in marriage.

When night came and the raging fires of War could be seen and heard from the castle, y/n would sneak into her brothers room, and they would all sit and tell stories and y/n would sing them to sleep. They never knew it but y/n blamed herself for the chaos her family endured. She wished upon all the night stars for safety for her family, for Thor and Loki especially. They may have been older than her but she was wiser in the ways of the world.

By morning, the two would go find their beloved sister and make sure she was alright like she alhad done the night before. This morning was different, the sweet sound of her voice was not to be heard throughout the palace halls. When entering her room, they discovered her absence. Yet a note she had left for the two, knowing they would be the first to know she was gone.

"My dear brothers,
I want you to know that I love you both with all of my heart. That is why I have left. I needed to know you two would be safe and that I could cause no more damage to your youth.
Loki, please do try to stay out of trouble, you could cause mischief anywhere I swear you could! You have a good heart, dont lose sight of that. Don't forget that you care for a reason.
Thor, dont blame yourself. I know you will anyway you're way too headstrong. You've always done right by our people and I know that will never change. You know what to do if you need help, you have Loki. You two need to stick with eachother or so help me I will come back to put you back together.
You two cant let anyone or anything break your bond, I need you to promise me and eachother that no matter what you will always forgive eachother.

I love you millions but I needed to protect you. ~y/n."

Thor took her leaving the hardest, he fought and fought to end the wars, hoping y/n would return. Years passed and the letter was the last part of her he had. It was the one thing he and Loki protected no matter how big if a disagreement they were having. They kept their promises to forgive eachother.

Odin was not as kind, he sent Loki to the dungeons more than once, yet whenever he got there, Loki always found y/n's letter tucked under his pillow waiting for him. Eventually talk of her disappearance diminished but the pain of her loss was a constant for Loki and Thor.
