"You asshole!" You push Tony, hitting his chest as he backed away from you, "I can't believe you kept this from me!" You give him a final shove before freezing; listening to the message Bucky had left for you.

'Hey doll, I think they might be catching on to me... they know about you too. You can't stay here much longer darling. I love you so damn much, never forget that but you can't come here- Winnie needs at least one of us around. Stark, if you listen to this, Thursday night at 9pm they're taking me to the airport on the west coast, god knows where from there but I'd appreciate it if you got me out of here and fast."

You tilt your head slightly, watching as Winnie sat on the floor in the next room grumbling to Nat as she played with the blocks that were spread across the floor. You let the edge of your lips curve up into a slight smile, closing your eyes; feeling your chest slowly rise and fall as you took a deep breath. "Thursday is tomorrow and I'll be damned if you think I'm letting them ship my husband off to be a machine again." You stood, walking away. You froze as Tony's hand fell upon your shoulder, you didn't turn to face him, only listening to his voice.
"We can only do so much y/n, just remember that..." you chose not to acknowledge what Tony had said- refusing to let it cloud your mind. Not when you needed to focus on bringing Bucky home.

You woke up, sensing the familiarity in the air around you, you let your eyes scan across the room, falling over the wooden picture frames that sat on the shelf; the lace, white curtains falling down each side of the window. The light poured in, scattering across the room and you lay entangled in the bundle of warmth under the sheets. The faint sound of birds singing filling the silence of the room. As you roll over, you noticed the absence of Bucky, his side of the bed was cold and empty. A shadow of the place you had once loved so much- a memory of when you first fell in love with him. Only he wasn't there this time. You stood, wrapping a robe around you, feeling the silk softly graze your skin, making the hair stand on point. As you opened the bedroom door, you froze feeling a shiver rush down your spine. There was nothing but darkness waiting for you on the other side of that door. A gust of wind hid you, flushing your cheeks and causing your teeth to chatter. You turned away, beginning to push the door closed; you stopped as a familiar sound floated through the air, greeting your ears with a warmth you hadn't felt in a long time. You followed the gentle hum into the darkness, into the deep unknown. When you finally stepped out of the cold that had begun to consume you, your eyes fell solely on the steel blue eyes shimmering across the room from you. As you came closer, you realised that they weren't glistening with emotions- tears or joy. They were glossed over; completely void of feeling. That became ever so clear as you saw the small reflection from Bucky's metal arm raising up. You saw the gun clutched tight in his hand, pointing straight at you. You shut your eyes tightly, stepping closer till you felt the cold barrel against your skin, "It's okay, do what you need to do darling..." your voice came out quiet after fighting through your throat as it grew thick, closing up as you fought back the tears that you hid with your closed eyes. You sniffled, before feeling adrenaline course through your veins at the loud band of a gunshot. When you opened your eyes, you saw Bucky lay on the floor, blood pooling out around him.

Your eyes shot open as you sat up in bed. You felt your stomach churn as the image of Bucky lay lifeless on the floor flashed through your mind. Youstood, rushing out of the room. You pushed past Pietro as you locked the bathroom door behind you. Pietro walked over to the door, moving close enough to hear you heaving, the contents of your stomach ending up down the toilet. You felt yourself slide down from your knees, the salty tears forcing their way through your slightly parted lips as you heard a faint knock at the door. You waved your hand slightly above your head, the lock clicking open followed by Pietro entering the room. "Y/n... are you okay?" You felt the heat of his body as he slid down beside you. You simply fell into his arms, silently crying as he held you.

Pietro didn't let go till he felt your breath slow back to a steady rhythm, your sobs halting, only hearing small sniffles every now and again. You let out one final deep sigh before pushing yourself up of the cool ground, taking Pietro hand in yours to help pull him up. You could feel the heat of your tear-stained cheeks, choosing to ignore it. "Whats wrong?" Pietro spoke softly... cautiously, so he didn't spark anymore tears.
"I'll be okay, I'm bringing Bucky home today. That's all that matters." You walked towards the door before turning back to him, a sweet smile spread across your lips as you whispered, "Hey Pietro, I love you... you know that?"
"I love you too y/n," he placed a small kiss on your forehead before wrapping you into one final bear hug. He let go, you walked back to your room to get dressed before Winnie woke up for the day.

You shut the door gently behind you, glancing over at Winnie as she slept so peacefully. "Well be home soon baby," you sighed, thinking about the home you felt uneasy in without Bucky there with you. It wasn't home without him and you knew that deep down within your soul, no place ever would be without Bucky.
