You had been sending Bucky pages of your diary for a while now, and had just sent the one you had written about your perfect life together. The butterflies swarmed in your stomach as you read his most recent letter.
'I could just imagine that smile of yours as you wrote this. It got me thinking. When I get back, I want to marry you y/n, grow old with you, have children. Oh and our daughter is going to be Winnifred, Winnie after my mother. Our children will be lucky, with your brains and beauty and my obvious charm. Evelyn will have a field day planning our wedding. I love you y/n. Forever.'
"Forever," you whisper to yourself, clutching the letter to your heart before placing in a box and sliding it underneath the couch. There was a knock on the door, you hop up practically skipping to the door, swinging it open. "Well you seem very happy today!" Evie came waltzing in as if the letter had subconsciously summoned her. "I am, I got another letter from Buck today." You grab her hand, dragging her to the kitchen to make some lunch. "Does that mean you'll come out tonight?" Evie raised her eyebrows; clasping her hands together with hope. You bite your bottom lip, letting the smile creep on to your face before nodding at her. "Yes, sure I'll come out tonight. After all what would you do without me?"
"I'd simply die!" She pretended to fall in to your arms, placing a hand across her forehead as if she were faint. You laugh at her, a strong, hearty laugh, genuinely feeling happy today. Thinking of how last night, you didn't wake up crying or covered in scratches and bruises from nightmares. A full night sleep had shown you how it felt to have energy again. You just prayed that it would last and the nightmares would stay away; at least for a while."Don't you dare!" You grab Evie's arm as she begins to back away, a huge grin on her face. "You are not leaving me here alone!" Your attempt to whisper is futile as it developed to a quiet shout.
"What if i walk you home first?" You roll your eyes, huffing, "fine but you come to mine before you go home. I want to know you're safe." You grab your bag, Evie signaling to a guy across the room. He made his way over, a friend in tow. "Goodevening ladies, ready to go?" Yoh look to the ground, scoffing under your breath, "yes, home."As you walk home, Evie walks slightly ahead with the tall, blonde guy, you walking beside his friend. The awkward silence was well, awkward but you preferred the silence when he started talking. "So... do you like the beach?" You think back to your date with Bucky, feeling more and more uncomfortable. "Listen, you seem like a real nice guy but my man is off fighting. He's gonna come home and when he does, I'll be here waiting for him. Evie," she turned around to face you, stopping. You hug her, "I'm good from here. You go have a fun night and remember what I told you." You finish walking to your house, locking the door behind you.
You walk around your room, taking clothes off and replacing them with pyjamas, grabbing some paper and a pen and sitting down on the couch.
'Bucky, I miss you so much. Evie convinced me to go out tonight, I wish I had stayed home. She ended up leaving with a guy so I'm back home anyway. It would've been so much better with you there, we could have gone dancing. I had a dream about my brothers, something about it just didn't feel right. I hope you can come home soon, I sleep easier with you. I'll love you forever.'
You place the paper in an envelope, sealing it and placing it on the coffee table. You grab your book, curling up to read.
You lay in a cell, alone. Staring at the ceiling. You hear footsteps approaching, turning your head to see Thor, stopped outside the cell. His expression is blank and he just stares back at you. You see the walls begin to be covered with growing vines that start to spread across the floor towards you. "Thor, let me out of here please." You start to panic as they take up more of the room, you move over towards Thor, looking back to see the vines inching towards you. "Just let me out!" Your breathing grows heavier as the vines start to wrap around your ankles, you notice Thor's hand twitch slightly as your shouting became more distressed. "Please, please, please!" You start to cry, feeling your ability to move become restricted. Slowly, Thor began to blink, almost as if he was snapping out of a trance. "Y/n...?" His eyes widened as he saw the vines begin to wrap around your throat. He shouted and banged on the wall as he watched you slowly suffocate. The banging becomes louder and louder till it is the only thing you can hear.
You wake up on the couch, your book on the floor. A blanket had been draped over you. The light shone in through the window and you could hear a distant humming, smelling pancakes cooking. You sit up, placing your book ok the coffee table before making your way to the kitchen. "Well, good morning sleepy head!" Evie stood at the stove; a huge grin on her face as she flipped a pancake.
"Who are you and what have you done with my Evelyn?" You raise an ehebrow as you take a it out of a pancake, shocked at how amazing it tasted.
"I came back last night to you waiting up for me, well trying to anyway... you fell asleep. But thats besides the point." She placed another pancake on your plate before pouring more batter into the pan. "I realised you do so much for me so I wanted to return the favour." She reached over to the radio, turning it up and grabbing your hand. She pulled you in to the middle of the kitchen, twirling you around to the music. You both laughed and danced round the room, eating pancakes and Evie told you about how her night went.
