Day by day you watch as the house becomes yours, Bucky and Steve doing most of the painting. You would start painting the walls in a room, leaving them to it while they decorated and moved furniture in a separate room. Bucky always came looking for you and would get worried as he saw you stood at the top of a step ladder; painting up by the ceiling; asking you to come down. Always telling you he would do that room next. You didn't like feeling unhelpful so instead you would sit in the garden with Wanda, planting all sorts of colourful flowers. Your one condition was that the nursery would be yours to do with Bucky,
"Sorry Steve, you can't join this one," you patted him on the back, your other hand on your ever growing bump.

After two long months full of decorating and shopping for furniture; you could finally move into your new home. You invited everyone over for drinks as a house warming party, unfortunately alcohol was off the table for you. Wanda and Pietro spent most of the night talking to you, Nat joined after Peter and Loki made a bet that Loki couldn't fit more than 10 marshmallows in his mouth. Spoiler alert, he choked on the 14th one.

You gasped, eyes growing wide as your hand shot to your stomach, Bucky ran over to where you were sat as Wanda and Nat practically smothered you wondering if everything was okay. You looked up at Bucky; grabbing his hand and placing it towards the bottom of your bump. A couple of seconds passed before Bucky jumped up, shaking his hand violently, "oh my god! Wait doll, the baby kicked!" He laughed as he placed his hand back on your stomach, "this is incredible darling."

After eight months, you slept less and less as it became increasingly difficult to get comfortable. It didn't help when Bucky had to leave for a while. Steve Bucky and Sam had gone to stop a newly emerging group of terrorist who wanted life to be like it was before the blip. You told him it was okay; that he needed to go stop The Flag Smashers. After a while; you convinced him it wasbest that he went to help Sam and Steve. "Nothing is going to happen around here for the next few weeks, I can have Nat and Wanda- even Pietro stay with me if it makes you feel better but people are getting hurt and you can help stop that."

You stood folding Buckys clothes, putting them in to a bag for him. You saw him stood, leaning against the door frame, arms crossed before he made his way over. "Fine but the minute anything happens, you call me, got it?" His brow was furrowed as he still contemplating what he should do,
"I promise, you will be on speed dial 24/7, now go stop The Flag Smashers." You lean up on your tiptoes, wrapping your arms around his shoulders, kissing him passionately, knowing this would be the best you were going to get till after the baby was born.

You stand in the door way as Bucky and Wanda cross paths, swapping places. Wanda placed a hand on your back as Bucky turned and waved before he got into the car with Steve and Sam. You sniffle slightly as they drove away, "Hey y/n, it's all going to be fine." You leant your head on Wanda's shoulder, wiping a tear away from your eyes.
"I know I told him to go- and I still think he could be a big help to Steve but its still hard to watch him leave." You both turn and walk inside, shutting the door behind you.

The next morning you woke up in bed, the sky poured with rain. You got up, making your way through to the kitchen, stopping to see Wanda stood cooking breakfast. "Ah, y/n how do you like your eggs?" She smiled at you, cracking an egg into a pan.
"Scrambled, do you need any help?" You make your way over, the smell of the room was immaculate- making it feel like home while Bucky was away.
"The toast needs making, if you don't mind?" You smiled, grabbing the bread to put in the toaster.

You both sat eating the food, tucked up on the couch with an old sitcom on the TV. "You remind me of an old friend of mine," you look up at Wanda, taking note of how alike she was to Evelyn.
"Who?" She turned to you, the same mischievous grin that you loved about Evie spread across her cheeks.
"Actually, we could go see her if you wanted to?" You placed your plate down on the coffee table,
"Yeah, I would love to meet her."
"She was the first person in almost a thousand years who I let in to my life, without her I wouldn't have met Bucky." You think back to when you would spend Friday night out on the town with Evie.

After about an hour of driving, you pull up outside of the little house that used to belong to you. The front garden was full of rose bushes, you both walk up to the door; knocking. "One moment!" You smile hearing Evelyn shout to you through the house. She opened the door, her eyes growing wide as they fell on you- and then your bump. "Oh my word! You're having a baby!" She invited you and Wanda in, offering you a drink.
"This is Wanda, Evie. I was telling her she reminded me of you." Wanda stood, helping Evelyn with the drinks as she came through. You and Evie began telling Wanda about all the adventures you had together, Wanda listened intently, smiling from ear to ear as she did.

"My mama killed me that night you met Bucky, said I had worried her sick," you all laugh as you caught a glimpse of a little black and white photo that sat on the mantle among many others. You stood, picking it up and smiling at the picture of you and Evie, both laughing together surrounded by a crowd of people at Coney Island.
