PROLOGUE: Marty and Doc's interactions in 1955– the hidden nuggets, behind the scenes.

Credits to outatime_121 for the idea!

Doc Brown sighed.

His head was buried deep in the mahogany table in front of him. First, a strange boy had appeared, told him a completely accurate story of how he came up with the idea for time travel, and now was claiming that he was from the year 1985 and needed to get back to the future. In addition, after some unnecessary time meddling, the kid had also screwed up his own existence and now seized to exist! What was the Doc ever supposed to do?

Doc felt like there wasn't anything he could do. He felt sorrows for the boy— he'd be stuck here! 1.21 gigawatts— Great Scott! What was his older self thinking?

But alas, there was actually a way to generate the power needed. A bolt of lightning. To a saving-flier, Doc could use the information given and input it into a plan. So he did it— he constructed a model Hill Valley and demonstrated precisely to Marty how it could be done.

It nearly took the Doc all day to work out the logistics of his plan. First, he had to go to the hardware store and pick out the parts for creating a model. It wasn't to scale, and in his opinion it was a little bit crude... but it'd have to work. Doc sighed and went to work, calculating things such as the wind resistance and velocity of the car would need to be in order to send Marty home. Doc also went to the hardware store later the same day to pick up some such much needed supplies for the car, so that the lightning bolt, the energy source, could be channeled into the flux capacitor. About $210 later (which in 1955, was a lot of money), Doc Brown had everything he needed. Now, all he hoped for was that this plan of his would work.

Doc also stopped the very same day to get some clothes for the boy. After all, according to Doc and nearly the entire town, he couldn't go around just wearing that life preserver of his. And those shoes? Neekay? Doc Brown had asked prior what Marty's measurements were, and briefly Marty had scratched them down. This would have to do for now. Doc then gave Marty some new shirts, a pair of converse, hair grease (which Marty wasn't particularly fond of), and taught him how to dress. "Make sure you cuff the jeans, future boy," Doc had said.

But that was only the first part of his plan. The second part of his plan required Marty, the time traveler, to make his parents fall in love again. Marty had stupidly ran out in front of the car his dad was supposed to fall into, and instead of his mom falling in love with his dad— his own mother fell in love with him! It was the classic case of the Florence Nightingale effect— Marty Clein had just seemed so helpless, laying in Lorraine Baines's bed. Gross, but what else could ya do?

Marty also had to sacrifice some of his dignity in order to make this plan of his succeed. The worst thing he could do, yet the only thing effective, was to feel up his own mother. He hated the single thought of it... why did things happen this way? Ah, heavy.

This very thought couldn't leave Marty's head. It wrapped around him, like a little finger in his numbing brain, reminding him what he was doing. What if he ended up going back to the future, screwed up, or even worse... gay? Marty held this same conversation with Doc this very night, just before Marty pulled into his plan of his.

The police officer exited, checking out the time vehicle. Meanwhile, Doc glanced at his watch and walked up to Marty. "Hey, kid," Doc began. "You better get going to pick up your mom."

"Yeah, right," Marty responded, but looked away. This just felt wrong. There was something inside of him, screaming not to carry on with this plan of his.

Doc noticed his mannerisms. "You look a little pale," he pointed out, kindly placing his hand on Marty's shoulders. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I don't know, Doc," Marty adamantly admitted. He was feeling less and less sure by the minute. "I mean... it's just this whole thing with my mom." His responses were somewhat vague; he didn't want to get too deep into this whole thing.

But Doc didn't understand. "What?" He questioned, concerned. Marty couldn't back out now— he just couldn't!

"I just don't know if I can go through with it," Marty responded, hesitantly. The plan was sounding less appealing by the second. Even if it worked... would it be worth it? "...hitting on her." He finished.

Doc, of course, still didn't get it. He chuckled wryly, confused at his lingos. "Nobody said anything about hitting her!" Doc laughed, winking. This kid. "You're just going to take a few liberties with her!"

Is that normal to do in the 50s? Marty wondered, a shiver running down his spine. He couldn't explain it, exactly, but this whole thing made him feel... icky. Jesus, McFly. That was the problem— 'liberties'! What is wrong with this picture?

"That's what I mean!" Marty exhausted, leaning against the car. Couldn't anyone else see the problem with this? He could hardly bare the situation enough as it was. "I mean, I can't believe I'm actually going to feel up my own mother." If Biff  did it and it enraged Marty, how would Marty feel then? Then, a second thought crossed his mind. What if... this changed things? "You know," he added, wagging a finger in Doc's face for emphasis. "This is the kind of thing that could screw me up permanently. What if I go back to the future and end up being... gay?" The mere thought of it made him gag. He felt like he would be disease ridden!

Doc would never understand. "Why shouldn't you be happy?" Doc asked. This was wrong in two way...

Marty didn't bother trying to explain the rest to him. After all, you couldn't explain things to a foreigner. "I gotta go," he muttered, sounding defeated. "Pick up my mother."

Doc was relieved. Now no more of this jumbo-mumbo. "Good."

The conversations Marty and Doc held behind closed doors was interesting.

Authors note:

I hope y'all enjoyed! And if u didn't, leave below some more ideas! :)

**note I hope the scene in bold didn't offend anyone (I'm sorry if it did)! I only included it because it was a deleted scene from the actual movie and I wanted to hold some dialogue from the two. Obviously, no one was educated about homosexuality in the 80s ;)

See you all in the future.. or the past!
