Khathari's POV

Isti and I waved goodbye to Yuutario Dyo.

During lessons, I was able to inquire what happens when I get a medellia.

Medellia means a gift of favor from the guardian spirits. When Rhelde-Kai made this place, he made several guardian spirits to manage the elements of the land. Rhelde-Kai also gave them the ability to use the inhabitants of this world to help them.

For example, if you got the flora medellia, growing plants will be in your favor. Meaning, compared to someone who has the medellia of the sky guardian spirit, the plants you grow would have better quality.

Medellias give you a supernatural ability to aid you in what purpose they give you. For instance, the flora medellia might give you the ability to know what a plant needs just by touching it.

Isti and I were walking the whole way this time. She said it would help me get more familiar with the village.

We were nearing the fountain I saw the last time I laid eyes on the village.

There was the same tree with small water droplets swirling upward to its leaves and running back down in small streams along its trunk.

It was puzzling yet majestic.

As we walked by, I saw Djivann sitting next to the same boy from the fire accident.

I chose not to speak of it, but I kept it in mind.

We arrived at a place that looked like the castle gardens.

In the middle was a bowl of water on a pedestal with a woman standing next to it.

Isti and the woman motioned me to stand before the bowl of water.

I was confused but followed along.

The woman took some water in her hand and poured it on my head while silently muttering something inaudible.

She then stepped back, and it looked like she began manipulating the water from the bowl to float and swirl all around her.

I watched the whole thing in amazement.

She took all the floating water droplets and formed them into a sphere in her hands.

The water she poured on my head swirled into the sphere in a stream of droplets.

It started lighting up from within.

Then it exploded with the water splattering everywhere.

So I get an explosive medellia?

Isti looked at me in shock, and the woman gave a completely horrified look.

"The guardians were in full torment when I presented this child to them," the woman said in an unsteady tone.

Was she scared of me?

Isti demanded a reasonable answer.

The woman couldn't talk straight, but I heard her say something about the guardians being unable to see my future path.

"Send her back to where she came from. She is a curse to the kingdom," the woman cried out.

Isti was a mix of emotions as she performed a peculiar hand gesture that summoned a strange mist that the woman breathed in.

Instantly, the woman fell motionless on the floor.

Isti grabbed my arm and dragged me away in a rush.
