Khathari's POV

After Nharro introduced me to Edan, I left to see the girl on the other side of the ship.

I stood next to her, wondering why she was staring blankly at the endless ocean.

"Oh? Ah! Hi! I'm Hizadette. Call me Hiza," she said once she noticed me.

She looked scared when she scanned me from bottom to top.

"Something wrong?" I asked.

"It's just my partner. He thinks just because he turns 10, he has the rights to rule over me."

"Sounds more immature to me."

"I know, but he won't listen."

"Yeah, 365 days repeated 10 times doesn't prove anything about maturity if your mind and emotions are still immature."

"365?"

"One year."

"A year is 500 days. What are you talking about?"

"Oh, my bad."

She chuckled a bit but then returned to a troubled face.

"Is something else wrong?" I continued to ask.

"You wouldn't understand."

"But I'll listen and do my best to understand.''

"Fine, you win. My medellia shows me which pair of people have the strongest fate with each other in the form of colored mist."

"So... like red string on the pinky finger?"

"What?''

"Nevermind. Continue, please."

"By strongest fate, I mean that they will affect each other's lives more than anyone else will."

"I think I follow."

"Okay, so, my medellia shows that by rising blue mist whenever the pair is close to each other. However... today is different. You and that guy over there... your mists are blood."

"Blood?"

"Yes, blood. It even has that metallic smell."

"You sure it is?"

"Yes, it is! I even touched it! It is bloody blood."

I crossed my arms and stared at the floor.

"Any idea why is that so?" I asked.

"No clue, but one thing I know, the blood is thicker on your side of the mist than the opposite side."

"I see. I'll think it over."

Hiza hugged me and whispered in my ear, "Be careful."

Then she left.

Blood...

I shudder every time I think about it.

Hiza must have been scared pale too when she saw it.

But why more blood on my side?

I need to tell Nharro.

We're best friends. We shouldn't really hide such matters from each other.

Well, unless you're planning a surprise.

I wonder if Valdrin has got it ready.

Anyway, this was serious.

I turned around to look for Nharro, but he was gone.
