"So. What do you wanna do?" Sid asks me, looking back out at the road.
"Well, since we're going to Washington, what can't we do? I'm sure we can do pretty much anything." I say, looking over at him.
"True." He says smiling, peeking over at me from behind the steering wheel.
"Today's like Valentines Day right?" I ask him.
"How could you forget?" He asked me, shooting me a quick look of disbelief.
"Never had a reason to remember before."
"Well, now you do." He says, staring out at the road, a big smile plastered on his lips.
"Yes I do." I say, nodding my head, my gaze out at the road in front of us.
I watch the snow float down and fly by the windshield, admiring the way it all teams up together in the end to gather on everything in pretty piles to give us a wondrous sight.
"It's so pretty out." I say, placing my feet on the floor and leaning forward, folding my arms on the dash and resting my chin on my arms, looking out and admiring the people walking out in their winter coats. Some in a hurry, other just seeming to take a stroll with a nice warm coffee in their hands. This is honestly beautiful.
"Well, you're prettier."
I scoff teasingly, my head turning towards him, my arms still folded.
"That was cheesy."
He chuckles.
"You're right. It should be chocolatey."
I take my arms off the dash and fully turn towards him, a smile and furrowed eyebrows displaying on my face.
"What?" I laugh lightly, and confused in the most lovely way possible.
Sid smiles as he reaches over and unlatches the console, pulling out a small rectangular box.
"Happy Valentines Day." He says to me, extending his arm a little for me to take his gift.
I carefully take it in my hands, feeling the corners of the box, mesmerized.
I look up at him, shocked, my eyes wide.
"Sidney. You would never have to get me something. Oh my goodness."
"I do have to get you something. And because I want to."
I have a happy face, but I am still in disbelief.
First of all, he played that smooth as fuck, and second, wow. I..I am just truly happy. No one has ever gotten me something. This gives me a wonderful feeling I don't know if I can describe.
"Open it." He says, nodding to it.
I look at him for a second, but then glance down at the box in my hands.
It was a dark shade of brown, and when I opened it, the inside was a tan, soft, foam like, encasing around and under my gifts.
The box held three things.
The first item, on the far left was a square piece of chocolate, lined with a chocolate drizzle of a heart and rose on the top. The third thing, on the far end was another piece of chocolate lined with my name drawn in a heart. And right in the middle was a ring. A beautiful ring. A chocolate diamond ring I had only seen on tv commercials, or on signs at the mall. Never in real life would I ever think I would be owning one of these.
The middle was a beautiful bronze, but dark brown, and the ring itself was a delicate gold, seeming to be dripping with love.
I gasped quietly, my hand coming to my mouth.
