"Putting milk in the bowl first is divorce worthy," Fleury says, taking off his backward hat and smoothing back his thick, black hair. He puts his hat back on as he looks around at all of us, his hand lingering on the top of his head.

Some guys from the team thought it'd be cool to have a little bonfire in hopes of cheering me up after everything that happened, and the uproar on social media.

I roll my eyes at Flower, Sid's hand wrapped tightly in mine. Sid's back was pressed against a lawn chair, the summer sun beading down on us.

My back is pressed against his chest, my hair in a messy ball on top of my head.

"Or wetting your toothbrush BEFORE putting toothpaste on," Maatta chimes in, his face twisted up in a scowl of disgust.

"Who the fuck doesn't wet their toothbrush before putting toothpaste on?" I say, my hand out in a confused gesture.

"Who the fuck does?" He asks me, glaring.

"I the fuck do."

"What the fuck, man?"

"Fuck you."

There was silence. Quiet giggles rose around us.

"This..this is how civil wars are started." Sidney says from behind me.

"Let's talk about something else. Something stupid." Letang, who was laying down on a beach chair, says, overhearing us bicker.

"Um...bees don't have knees so if someone says that you're the "bees knees", it means that you're nothing and not real." Sidney says, sitting up, our bodies moving in sync.

"Actually, they do...bees have segmented legs, consisting of parts called a coax, a trochanter, a femur, a tibia and a tarsus. The joints between are considered to be the knees." I say, turning to face him.

When I look back, I feel everyone's eyes burning into my soul from behind.

I think my geek was showing.

Sorry." I say, looking down, a small smile on my lips.

"Go do a Sudoku puzzle." Marc says, smiling.

I look up with a grin, chuckling, and also becoming aware of a certain craving.

"I want chocolate," I say, bluntly staring off into space, dreaming about cocoa.

Sid jokingly rolls his eyes and swings his head at an angle to face me. "Studies show that chocolate does not help when you're on your period."

I look at him with a look I'm sure he'll never forget. The last time I looked like that, they cowered away like I ate sin with a side blasphemy for breakfast. Put that fear of God in that bitch. "Studies show that I will eat someone alive if I don't obtain chocolate while on my period."

All of a sudden, my head is thrown back against the chair in surprise, as something hits me in the head. Someone just threw something at me.

Ooh. A chocolate bar.

I open it and began the feast.

"You're...welcome...?" I hear from somewhere around me or above me. Not really sure. Don't really care.

About halfway through that chocolate bar, I begin to realize I look like an animal. I peek up and see everyone looking at me like I was some wild freak of nature that just broke into this party.

"What?" I say, my mouth crammed full of chocolate.

They chuckled at me and soon started a new buzz of conversation.

"What if the only reason we can't walk through mirrors is because our reflection blocks us?" Letang says, picking up a solo cup and taking a slow but short sip.

"What if they're protecting us though?" Sid asks, lifting his arm up, trying to make a point. "What if they know that the other side is horrifying and painful and they are trying to keep us from crossing over."

"I must be on the wrong side of the mirror then," Fleury says, sitting back against his chair, his arms crossing over his tank top.

"Maybe you're the reflection," Kunitz says, his eyes closed, shirt off, tanning on the chair beside the grill.

We all turn to look at him, soaking in his words.

These guys fuck me up and it's not okay.

"Marilynn met Miley Cyrus once," I say, changing the subject.

"That's cool," Sidney says, resting his hand on my thigh.

"She brought her Hannah Montana CD," I said, looking down, making a face.

Everyone is silent except for a quiet "oh" from somewhere in the distance.

They all stare at me.

"She refused to sign it."

No one said anything. Not one word.

"She said it wasn't funny."

Sid is shaking up and down from behind me and I look back an whisper to him. "What?"

He just scrunches his eyes and brings his large man hands to his face.

"You're just funny," he says, laughing so hard his words come out as a squeak.

"Hey, what happened to Marilynn anyway?" Sid asks after calmed down.

"I don't know. I haven't heard from her," I say, remembering my worried feeling I had for her rush through me once again. "In fact, I'm gonna call her. Be right back."

I stood up from the chair and stalked into the house of Marc Andre Fleury, and shut the sliding glass door behind me. I pull out my phone and dial her up.

It rang and rang until finally someone picked up.

"Hello?" The voice says.

I recognize the voice, but I can't exactly place it.

The doors open from behind me and I turn around to see Sidney walking towards me, shutting the doors behind him.

His arms slide around my waist from behind and his lips let out heavy breaths on my neck. He leaves soft kisses as I answer the person on the phone.

"Hi, I was just wondering if Marilynn was there?" I ask, smiling at Sidney's touch.

But what I hear from the voice on the phone does not make way for any smiles.
