I was mad as hell. No amount of work, of business calls, or meetings, of flying my chopper around, of driving around, nothing, was getting that fucking hurt expression she wore after she left my car out of my head. I was mad.

Phoenix Flynn was interesting in that... simple, basic way? She was intriguing to me. She was a gentle person, which was shown with Charlie, along with her patience. She didn't come from money, based on her home and the clothes she wore which is where she got her hard work ethic, and the want to make it on her own. But she had an odd side to her. She would well up in this... attitude in conversation; she had a trashy tattoos. What was that?

The way she kissed said she had experience, she did have an ex boyfriend, so, maybe she was into her sexuality. How could any one person be so mixed? It wasn't possible. She had to have been playing games with me. I didn't trust as it was, how could I possibly be around a girl who I couldn't understand?

It had been some time since I last saw her, and I was bored, sitting at work, working a bit into the night. I just... I called her.

"Niall?" Her voice was at a whisper.

"Are you asleep? I didn't think it was that late."

"No, um, hang on," I heard fumbling, and the sound of what I guessed to be a door shutting. "What's up?"

"I wanted to take you out." What the fuck just came out of your mouth? Take her out where? Take her out at all?

"Take me out?"

I shut my eyes tightly. "Yes."

"You don't do that. You don't have time for that."

I grinned at her subtle jab, the attitude in her voice. "I cleared my schedule."

"I um, I would but I'm not home. I'm in Ann Arbor for an away game."

"That's at least two hours from home, that's far."

"It is, but its districts."

"Ah, so does that mean you can't go out?"

She hesitated. "I'm not supposed to but... um, if you can get here... I can meet you out front."

"Rule breaker?"

"Rule breaker."

"Don't get in trouble on my account."

"I won't, really. It's just because we have to get up early, no big deal."

"Text me the address of the hotel. I will be there very soon."

I hung up, and my phone buzzed a few moments later. I got up, rubbing my face. Why did I just do that? What was the purpose of that? What possessed me to do that?

"Donna," I shouted, knowing the door was open.

"Yes Mr. Horan."

"Call my air master Rick. Tell him to fuel up my chopper and then call it a night."

"Yes sir."

She walked away; I stood up and properly put my files away. From there I drove out to the air port hanger my chopper was in. My dad could fly, my grandfather, and my older brother, though he never did, or cared for it. My little brother was still learning, it was a Horan family tradition I suppose, even though I technically wasn't a Horan.

I shook out of my jacket, and hung over my chair. I rolled up my sleeves and fixed my tie up. I took to the sky, knowing I had no other way of getting to her quickly. It would have taken over an hour, and it would have been far too late by then to take her out, since she had a game. For some reason I wanted to get to her fast.

I arrived at the hotel; I wanted to show her the chopper I suppose. I gave her a call telling her to come to the back exit, where the empty lot was that I landed. She pushed open a heavy metal door, and there she was.

Her jaw dropped. I grinned. She was wearing a very tight pair of black jeans and button up blue shirt, with a white scarf, it was chilly in November. I was surprised; these were very nice, very new looking clothes. Her hair was wavy and had some of it pinned back, she had eye liner and mascara on, a bit of something else too that made her skin look dewy. She tried.

"You look lovely Phoenix."

"Oh, thank you, this was... random? You took a chopper to get here? Holy fuck Niall."

I still wasn't used to her speech patterns around me. I smiled though.

"Too much?"

"Niall... you're too much of everything."
