I couldn't stop talking to her. I wasn't able to. We had been texting often but I needed my hands for work, so we began calling. I loved hearing her voice in all honesty, it was loud and giggly, I could see her facial expressions in my mind. It was a very odd thing. She was on Christmas break right now, having a great deal of time off. I was doing something I never did, never.

"Hi," I heard her voice.

"I need you to pack a bag, just basic warm clothes, wear boots."

"Um, why?"

"I'm stealing you for just one day, maybe two."

"You can't do that."

"I can and I will, I'll be at your house in five minutes. Be packed." I hung up and kept on driving to Westville with a smile, excited to see her reaction to my plan. I knocked her door, it swung open immediately.

"What's up?"

"My schedule finally freed up, come on now," I took her bag and guided her out, my hand on her lower back like normal. But again, her body leaned into my touch, her body against me, completely dependent. I think it meant she enjoyed the touch. I put her bag in the trunk while she sat in the warm car; Parker was driving us so it was in back. "How has your break been so far?"

"It's been good. You didn't reply to my snap chat." she smiled.

"I didn't get one." She had made me download this silly app. She'd send me images of her school, of the goofy things her and Charlie were doing, sometimes just her smile. It was a very fun thing. I laughed at the silly picture of herself upside down with the caption bored. "This is what you do on your day off? You are such a distraction to me."

"I apologize, now, where are we going?"

"A trip."

"What kind of trip?" I smiled. "Niall... we can't leave the country.'

"No, no, not the country. You need a passport."

"Oh, okay, so fun. What did you do at work today?"

"I did a great deal." I took a breath and rubbed my face. "Lots of talk, meetings."

"You have so many of those."

"Of course, I have investors to keep updated. Then I need to be updated on the constant evolving changes all my business goes into."

"Yikes."

"Yikes is right, it's nice to have a free weekend."

"Getting out and about is good for you, see?"

I smiled and went back to emailing while I still could. We arrived at the airport, I saw her face. "Don't worry,' I smiled and got out. My workers brought our bags to the plane; it was one of the favorite things I bought. It was sleek, glossy, fancy, very private and intimate. I had it with just enough seats that my family could fit with their children one day. She walked over to the custom H-I, Horan Incorporated, monogram on the floor.

"Is this your plane?"

"Of course it is, have a seat, we'll be flying soon. I need to speak to the captain." I walked and had a few words, making sure he flew perfect today. "I have an important friend on board."

"Of course Mr. Horan, it'll be smooth sailing."

I nodded and came back, buckling up next to her. She turned, her blue eyes big. "Niall, I'm freaked out. I've never been on a plane." I could hear the strain in her voice.

She looked so scared. I gave her a soft smile. "You're perfectly safe Phoenix; I have one of the best pilot around. I wouldn't let anything happen to you."

She smiled... very warmly at me. It made me nervous. I had to calm her down a bit when we took off, but for the most part she did well.

"So, where are we going?"

"A place that everyone should see this time a year." I unbuckled and got up. "Do you need anything to drink?"

"I'm fine." I nodded and walked to the bar in the corner, getting a water bottle. I sat down and took out my leather journal.

"Are you working?"

"I am, sorry; I'll stop once we land."

I saw her smile and then turn, gazing out the window with a wondrous expression. It made me happy to know I could give her that experience. We flew, but not for long.

"I'm in New York?" She shouted a bit.

"You are, everyone should see a snow covered New York." We got off the plane and were driven to my apartment near Central Park. "Make yourself at home." I said, bringing bags upstairs.

"Wow," I heard her call.

It had amazing views of Manhattan; it was modern, sleek, detailed.

"What do you think?" I came back after stripping myself from my heavy jacket, standing in a cable knitted sweater.

"It's stunning."

"I thought you'd like it. Now," I looked at my watch. "We have about two hours till dinner so we can just relax. Then after dinner we have tickets to see a Broadway show, I thought you'd enjoy the Lion King." She smiled. "Then I have a few other places to take you.'

"Did you plan this trip out to relax yourself or me?"

I didn't answer, just offering to show her around the apartment. I hated that I knew the answer to her question.

For her.
