"Students, your assignment marks have been put up. You can go and check on it at the end of the class," the teacher announced in an amused tone.

Jungkook tapped the back of his pen on his chin while his orbs concentrated on the whiteboard. He has not talked to Ijeong since last Tuesday, also he did not wish to do so either. Ijeong on the other hand was waiting for her chance to pick a convo with Jungkook. She still kept the flame of hope for Jungkook to speak to her alight somehow.

As soon as the bell rang, the classroom's population seemed to decrease. The youngsters jostled before the soft board just outside their room after their room for collecting their points. Some appeared to be quite happy and satisfied whereas some had a disheartened look on their crown.

Jungkook was pretty sure to secure an 'A+' in his midterm project. So he casually scooted to the wall after the rest were done watching their scores. To his conscience, when his visions trailed the row of his name, there was an 'AA' placed right next to it. He rechecked and almost jumped a foot above the floor. The marks totally turned the tables for his mood and to ruin it at the same time Ijeong came up to him.

She separated her edges but was interrupted by another voice from the back.

"Jungkook!"

Jungkook turned to watch Jimin strolling to the same corridor. He glistened his bunny incisors and tottered in his direction. Jimin's orbs caught the green-haired Ijeong whose frowns were laid with anger and annoyance.

"Hey what's up with Ijeong? Is she again up to flirting with you?" Jimin asked cocking his brow at the girl.

Jungkook grabbed a quick glance at the same female who was already on her way back to the class, stomping her heels to crush the plated floor.

"She's a nasty bitch. You want to know what she did last Monday?" Jungkook hissed, his gums gritted tightly.

"What the hell? I never knew that she could go this far," Jimin shook his head.

Jungkook shrugged, "Even I didn't want to share my grades with her but I wasn't left with a choice. I hate her."

"Certainly you should. If I had been in your place I would have got her kicked out of the college till now," Jimin spat, his eyes glowing in rage.

The weekends soon arrived for which Jungkook had to wait for as long as a week.

He woke up in the morning, packed up his bag, grabbed his banana milk and off he went for his art classes. Everything seemed normal, the climate was a perfect sunny day. He eagerly waited for the girl to turn up but with time, his hopes got dissolved because, in place of the lady, some other substitution teacher arrived. Jungkook thought for a while as to why this sudden exchange occurred between the tutors. The entire day got wasted in front of his expectations.

On returning home, he filled into his space. He fished out his phone and searched through the contact until the name Park Areum popped up on the flashed screen. His finger trailed to the call button and backed off. He gulped thickly as his mind processed something. Should I ring her? Will she pick it?

He brooded over this for a moment and ultimately tapped the display.

"The number you have dialled is currently switched off. Please try after some time."

Switched off? What is she up to? He let out a deep sigh as he still gazed at the device.

At night, Jungkook perched at the dinner table. His gums worked on squishing the pork belly whereas his mind was roaming elsewhere. It was hard to tell if his tastebuds were providing him with the sensations for the flavours he was chewing.

His mom scrutinized him for a few minutes and finally, she broke, "Jungkook didn't you like the food?"

He dropped his soup spoon which splashed a little stew on his hand. He wiped them off. "No eomma, the food tastes great. No doubts."

"Then why do you look so gloomy? Somedays you're so happy that you're dancing to yourself whereas on the other days you look devastated. What's wrong?" his mom asked placing back her chopsticks on the plate.

Jungkook pursed his lips, "It's nothing eomma."

"Are you sure?"

He toughened his gums, "I said it's nothing. Why do you keep on nagging me for everything? I'm done for today." He gushed to the stairs, his metal chopsticks clanked with the utensils.

He laid back on the bed, his skull damped into the pillow. His forehead had a lour already. The darkness of the room appeared to take over his brain. A cloud of uneasy thoughts framed above his head.

"Jungkook why didn't the girl, mean your dreamgirl, come last day?" Taehyung teased. "Is she dating someone?"

Jungkook pressed his lips together, "Is that really necessary for you to know? How will I know what she's doin'?" He glared away.

The minute came up for the art instructor to stroll in. Jungkook as usual shove off all his hopes for her to resume the lessons again. He expected the same other new personality to join them. Nonetheless, two heels clicked into the room. Jungkook gifted a minor glance at the form and gasped. It was Areum, the same Park Areum however she looked a bit different.

She was pale and a little skinnier than before. Her brown iris had two dark patches below, swollen eye bags and puffy reddish eyes. It was as if she had been crying for a whole long night.

Jungkook couldn't understand what made her look so frail all of a sudden. Even her voice played softer, quieter and crumbled when she spoke. Her nose was tinted crimson that made her represent Rudolph, the red-nosed deer.

Finding it all strange, Jungkook resolved to clarify the cause. Who knows maybe she needed help?

As the class ended, he moved to her desk. She sat while resting her head on her palms, her orbs were shut and she gave the impression of a dead soul.

"Miss Areum...," Jungkook spelt, "why didn't you show up last day? I hope you are okay!"

Areum raised her forefront to face him. That was the time when he had a closer view of her miserable health issues. He quaffed, "I mean you didn't even pick my call..."

She stood up by banging the table's surface. "It has nothing to do with you Mr Jeongguk. Stay out of my life."

Saying so she grasped her clutch bag and thundered outside the door, leaving the bombarded epitome of Jungkook all alone at the teacher's desk. His eyes didn't blink for a minute as they became a little watery.
