"There he is!" Taehyung claimed wildly.
They shifted their gazes from top to bottom of the approaching mortal. His black suit sparkled his unblemished clear skin even more, almost as a famous celeb shines on the red carpet.
Areum persevered looking at her man with clarity tested visions. His flawless rhythm, his matt black hair strands, his silver wristwatch, everything was finely determined.
Jungkook paused right in front of them, his soulful eyes scanned the girl before him in a closet mixed cocktail dress. A floral chaplet fixed her bangs, a pink jewel represented her pendant along with the diamond earrings dangling on either side of her cheeks.
"You look beautiful tonight," Jungkook whispered.
Areum bit her lower lip, "You too, you're handsome."
"I know," he giggled, "Oh Areum, look who's here." He stepped aside to expose his parents.
"Oh! Welcome, Mr and Mrs Jeon. I'm glad that you came," she gestured as the Tricenarian couple smiled.
"Just being grateful isn't enough. We would like to see your parents today," Mrs Jeon demanded.
"Of- of course! I'll bring them right away. Please give me a moment," she turned to retire but Jungkook restored her attention at him.
"Areum-ssi, take this with you. It's a gift from me. And this too from my parents," Jungkook told handing over the huge paper wrapped canvas and a velvety box that looked like a jewellery set.
Areum grabbed the two and balanced on her movements, "I'll be back!" Saying so she tapped on her stilettos inside the large residence.
For the time being, the three boys and their guardians broke into a turbulent chatting under the open sky. A fit of laughter soon tiptoed into the garden. All other guests busied themselves in enjoying the drinks and snack items.

In a while, Areum returned with her parents on both sides. She exclaimed, "Guys, I'm back!"
Mr Park hurried on his way to meet Jungkook's parents, "Hello Mr.-" he halted for a second and resumed with a pounding heart as he noticed the opposite personnel, "Chang-hoon?"
"Ho-jun?" a husky mutter escaped My Jeon's edges. His shocked sockets read Areum's blank face, "You're Ho-jun's daughter?"
"Umm do you know each other, appa?" Areum uttered in perplexion, her eyes deliberately shifted from one position to another.
"Sure at least I do. I do know his certified personality," Mr Jeon deprecated, "Only if I knew that you were his bloodline, I would have never accepted this relationship."
Mrs Jeon nodded, "That's why I always felt weird whenever I saw her. I always wanted to see her parents. I was a fool to not enquire of them on beforehand."
The entire aura densified with an unconscious tension. It was a battle between the guardians of the main leads, Areum and Jungkook. Their senses told them that there was some bitter truth awaiting which would be revealed sooner or later. But maybe the most significant bother of all was their relationship.
"Looks like you're blaming me to be responsible for everything. Are you really that innocent ?" Areum's dad tickled to test the opponents' patience.
"Hell yes. You haven't changed a bit. You're the same old jerk. And I am never going to engage my son with your daughter," Mr Jeon breathed, "Now that you're present here, nothing can convince me to stay back any longer. Let's go Jungkook."
He rotated on the crust to refrain from any more embarrassment since it was already a puddle of jam.
"Appa, I-"
"I said let's go," Mr Jeon pressed onto his son's wrist to pull him on his own acts. Mrs Jeon partnered them abreast. Jungkook eyed Areum for the last time before averting back in front. What else was left to be done? He couldn't ruin the mood by letting the water flow by distracting the actual motives.
"What is happening today? Appa, why did you let them go? What's the ultimate mess?" Aream shrieked in disappointment.
"Listen Areum, I don't want you to meet that guy for another time. Mind it," Mr Park Ho-jun announced.
Areum arched her brow, "Appa, what are you saying? You yourself said that Jungkook seems good to you!"
"Now no more. He's Chang-hoon's son. That very fact abstains me from letting you move any further closer to him."
"Appa, I'm not convinced that they did anything that wrong for which I have to stop meeting Jungkook." That made the Park couple fastened. She rushed to the stairs from which Jungkook was yet cascading beneath.
"Jungkook! Please wait!" a female voice enraged Jungkook's nerves. He paused at his spot whereas his parents made any eye contact in advance to pursue downwards.
Areum stopped behind the black-haired guy, breathing severely. She gulped and asked, "Jungkook please tell me it's all just a dream, a bad dream. I can't lose you, not at any cost. Please, I beg you. Don't leave me."
The male voice was numb. He was probably bluffed up himself for explaining and encouraging the young girl who meant to be his entire world, a world where he experienced and learnt everything unknown and necessary to him.
Areum patiently held on to her breaths for a minute or two for him to reply but he never did. She implored again, "Jungkook I'm asking you something. Why aren't you answering me?" Her voice was way stern.
And there was Jungkook who had decided to give some time to his parents once they're home for knowing about all of the old dramas that craped his way. Something is always better than nothing. So he snobbed in a judicious tone. "Love can break you evenly so that you can never forget it all throughout."
He took a lead on the next step, his lacrimal glands responded to his emotions slowly.
"But, what's my fault?" Areum's voice cracked.
Jungkook halted for a second and answered without turning back, "It isn't your fault, it's the fault of my ugly fate and I think it would be better to stay apart for some time." He glided down, soon after, his shadow vanished into the night.
Areum hurled down upon her knees as tears sprang out of her orbs, she cowered and swallowed thickly. The drops landed on the bosom of her dress, leaving a note of her cruel destiny.
