Two weeks escalated. The two hurt souls lying in the bodies of Jungkook and Areum stopped protesting for learning how to move on though they did not show any mere significance for not caring for each other. They did, they still felt the pain in one another's hearts, the forcedness, yet they had to cope up with it. No other way could alter their fate once again.

The weather was nice. Twilight was soon to pave into the sky patched with dark red and orange hues. The leaves of the trees bounced as the air hit their lateral sides continuously.

Jungkook strolled outside his house in the name of an evening walk. The truth was that he needed to breathe fresh. Staying indoors was killing him internally with the thoughts of Areum clouding his mind. He locked his hands inside the jeans pockets as he walked straight gazing through the glass doors of the various shops. Lights oozing out of the creeks and corners of the walls lit up the pavement upon which he went on.

Soon his legs paused before a cafeteria. His senses were stroked by the known location. It was the place where Jungkook had his first words exchange with his dreamgirl. His eyes traced to the table with two seats on its either side. That drowned him again in the lanes of older memories.

The first smile that he caught on Areum's lips, her melodious soft voice, her fluttering hair, everything got revived in his brain stem. The sound of her giggles reverberated to his eardrums.

A second later, he heard the same familiar voice but at a higher note.

"Jungkook!"

He flipped back to watch the girl running in his direction. He kind of seemed to be hallucinated by her charms. Her white flowy dress floated like those of angels.

She came and crashed onto his torso at an instant. He could not afford a chance to protest. She let all her loneliness flood his jacket. "Jungkook, I've lived long enough without you. Now I crave your presence every moment. I simply miss you like hell, I can't stay anymore. Please stop whatever you're doing. I don't want to know why you're committing these but all I know is that you can't change like that and I'm pretty sure of not being wrong. I recognised the real you," she snivelled on his chest, her hands tightly grasped the rare part of his sleeves.

Jungkook allowed her to speak, complain and drop every message she had in store all these days. He did not hesitate to stop her this time. His arms automatically raised to cuddle her but he refrained from what he wanted to do. He was perpetuating the same mistake of pulling her close to him. Instead, he held her by the shoulders to have a look into her weeping orbs.

Areum locked her eyes with his, "Please come back, Kookie."

Jungkook's heart was yet beating with a huge bass yet he preserved his hard frame. He tightened his gums, "Sorry but you took me wrong. I can't get back to you again." He left her skin to commence in his own way. The red signal was on however no vehicles were parked near the crossing. Jungkook sauntered at a medium pace to pass the zebra crossing. Areum followed behind him crying and whimpering from a distance. He tried to turn his ears deaf for listening to any of her wails.

When he was almost at the other end of the road, a car wooshed fiercely towards the girl who was still at the midway of the crossing. The honking of the vehicle concerned Jungkook to run and save the sprinting lady.

He speedily hopped towards the road once more. His muscles pumped up as he exposed his gritted teeth to approach her. His forehead crumbled, his core pounded, getting tensed all the more. As soon as he reached her, his hands pushed her away at a great force while he himself stumbled at the centre. The car's headlights flashed upon his face, blurring his visions to the utmost and in the next very moment, it banged Jungkook at the abdomen.

His body sprang away like a jet to fall a few yards away from the car. His skull bumped hard on the road, making him lose his consciousness at the same.

Areum observed with teary eyes in consternation.

His body laid in a pool of blood whereas people gathered around him. Areum gathered herself up to bolt near him, tripping twice on her way and fell to her knees. She trailed her palm on his blood spilt face and shrieked in guilt, "Somebody please call an ambulance, please do it fast. Jungkook!!" Her voice stunned the entire aura.

"Doctor, there's an emergency!" screeched a nurse.

"Take him to the O.T quick! Nurse! Get an ACMO!" a doctor instructed harshly.

Areum held Jungkook's hand tightly as she ran beside his stretcher. His immense blood flow stained the trolly and he struggled to breathe through his nostrils.

On arriving outside the operation theatre, a nurse pulled Areum away though she did not want to let him go alone. Her hand slipped out of his touch as the stretcher rolled inside the sliding doors.

Areum landed her palms on the surface of the door, her eyes peeped through the small circular glass transom window.

The doctors and medical practitioners were preparing for the surgery. Somebody among them aired, "His heart is pausing to respond!"

The ACMO was active to perform its skills. Areum watched Jungkook's body bouncing up and down on the bed when the doctor pressed the defibrillator on his chest.

Tears ran down her cheeks irresistibly since she could feel his agony partially. Out of the blue, a hand yanked Areum away from the doors. She gaped with puffy eyes at the woman who stood in front. Her lips trembled to pronounce, "Mrs Jeon?"

"Are you happy now? Huh? You ruined him completely! What else do you expect from my son, you wicked witch! you sorceress!" Mrs Jeon shouted at the top of her vocals.

Mr Jeon said, "Don't shout, it's a hospital!"

"What should I do? Watching my only son die when I'm fit and fine, how am I supposed to feel?" She tore her stare from her husband and looked back at the girl, "How ruthless can you be? Well listen, if something worse happens to my son, then just wait and watch what I do to you and your family. Don't you know he has a lung abscess? How will he tolerate such a huge pressure!" She broke into tears. "Get out of my sight. I don't even want to see your face again. I never knew that a black heart persists behind those pretty eyes. Go! Get away!" She dropped herself or a seat next to the wall. Mr Jeon nodded at Areum and she evacuated the hall while wiping her tear marks.
