Hoshiko struggled to remove the pole stuck through her arm as Naruto grew six tails and pounded Pain into the ground. Quite literally.

She winced at the pain but pulled it out. She flexed her fingers. Good. Her hand still worked, and even though it would hurt like hell, she could form signs. So she did, and after a minute of forming dreadfully slow signs, she started glowing green, the color of the better half of her spirit. The hole in her arm slowly closed, centimeter by centimeter. A self-healing jutsu.

Next, she turned to Hinata, who was in critical condition. She formed another series of hand signs, faster now that her arm was back to normal.

"Heart of the Healing." A spear of green shot into the sky from Hoshiko, distracting Naruto for a second. But soon, he turned back to his prey, Pain.

Hoshiko closed her eyes, sweat dripping from her chin into the dust coating the ground. All the chakra stopped shooting into the sky and slowly was contained in only her hands. She lowered her hands to Hinata's wound. She had already removed the spear from her back, and she was bleeding almost uncontrollably. But as soon as Hoshiko's hands touched her, the wound stopped bleeding. Then, quite quickly, the wound closed. But Hoshiko wasn't done. She had to repair everything else not visible to the eye, and it was draining the massive amount of chakra she had summoned.

As soon as the wound finished healing, Hoshiko fell onto her back, panting and exhausted. Hinata most likely would be out for the next few hours, more if her body was slow to heal, less if it was faster.

After Hoshiko had completely healed herself and all the other injuries on Hinata, she stood up. She had to tend to everyone else injured before dealing with...whatever Naruto had turned into. Yes, she was procrastinating, but Hoshiko didn't have too much of a problem with Pain getting sent into the grave, and there were a whole lot of people hurt.

She teleported Hinata to safety with another of her clan, then teleported herself to Shikamaru.

"You hurt? And uh...any ideas on how to tame the nine-tails?"

"My leg's broken. And...no."

Hoshiko sighed. She used green orbs of healing chakra and combined it with a small orb of barrier chakra. She combined the two and held the now-solid apple-shaped ball out to Shikamaru. "Eat up," she said, slipping it into his hand.

Then she moved away to help the others. She gave everyone else who was injured the same thing, then once she was done, walked back to Shikamaru. "Do you think you could evacuate everyone around here to safety? Naruto's gonna grow more tails soon. Tell them to keep at least a three-quarter-mile distance between the edge of the battlefield and themselves. And make sure they don't cross that line."

Shikamaru nodded, swallowed the last of his healing apple, and stood up. "Be careful, Hoshiko."

Hoshiko smirked and jabbed a thumb at herself. "Have you forgotten I'm a monster too? Sometimes you have to stop a fire with fire."

"You're not going to-"

"Only if I have to," Hoshiko replied firmly. "Now start getting people out of here. It isn't safe for them."

"Yeah, yeah." Shikamaru ran off in the direction of the Hyuga man and Sakura.

Hoshiko teleported back to the battlefield and sat down. She would have to go into sage mode to get the initial control over her demon.

Green light filled the sky. Hoshiko's eyes widened.

"Or maybe I won't have to do-"

Naruto crushed the source of the light, the necklace given to him by the fifth hokage.
