Kakashi-sensei stared at Naruto for a while. Then he nodded slowly. "As you've pointed out, I do believe in you. I trust you'll handle yourself."
"What? But Kakashi-" Yamato started.
"We're not just letting him wander off by himself, of course," Kakashi-sensei reassured him. "You and I will accompany him." Then he looked at Hoshiko. "However, we can't really do anything in the unlikely case that he does let loose. But Hoshiko, you can. Your power rivals Naruto's. After all, each week there's a new Konoha 11 leaderboard, and you two are constantly switching between first and second."
Hoshiko nodded. "Yeah, I'll come, although I can't exactly do anything without my spirit's power either. It'll be a gamble if I try attempting that."
"Yes," Kakashi said. "But you have a considerably better relationship between your beast and yourself than Naruto does with the nine-tails. So it's worth the risk if push does come to shove."
Hoshiko grinned crookedly and saluted her sensei loosely. "Yes, sir."

"C'mon," Kankuro said, clapping a hand on his little brother's shoulder. "Let's get going."
Gaara sighed, but there was no exasperation or frustration behind. "Don't touch me," he muttered and walked off toward the entrance of the village.
"He's in a good mood today, isn't he?" Temari snickered, and Kankuro wasn't sure if she was being sarcastic or not.
"Yeah," Kankuro said. "Now get that overgrown fan of yours and meet me at the front gate."
"It's not an overgrown-"
"Oh, but it is."
"There are nicer ways of putting it, you know."
"I speak only the truth."
