Wings Of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy

~Prolouge~

A rather angry looking female Skywing walked too the nest of eggs and placed a white and orange egg down away from the others.

"Webs you snail brain what are you doing with a Rainwing egg?" She snarled as the male Seawing ducked his head.

"It was all that i could find. Scarlet destroyed all of the eggs set to hatch to night." He said and placed the egg in the nest noticing Hvitur's egg.

"How are we going to raise an icewing and the dragonets for the prophecy?" He asked as an older looking Sandwing walked into the room with a huff.

"We could put it in the place of the missing Skywing. Anything is better than a rainwing. Isn't right Kestrel?" He said making the female scoff.

"That egg wont hatch for another two days. Its as useless as its father was Dune." She said and glanced at the egg. She may find it useless but she couldnt bring herself to crush the egg or the rainwing egg. As the grown dragons continued to talk the mudwing egg began to crack causing them to all look at it.

"Looks like its time." Kestrel said as the mudwing managed to get its snout through the eggshell. The small dragonet looked around curiously then got out of its shell.

"So that's a baby mudwing?" Dune asked with an unknown expression as Webs looked at the mudwing.

"He's kind of....cute. A little blobbier than i expected." He said with a curious and somewhat worried look.

"He looks exactly like i expected." Kestrel said with a scoff as the mudwing caught sight of the other eggs.

"We need a mudwing name for him." Webs said.

"Yes....something muddy." Dune said making Kestrel roll her eyes.

"Very insightful Dune." She said sarcastically as the mud wing walked over to the now hatching seawing.

"How about Clay?" Webs asked then jumped a little when the mudding let out a small roar and tackled the Seawing egg.

"What is he doing?" Asked one of the males but Kestrel only watched the small mudwing for a bit.

"He's attacking them! Stop that!" The other yelled as Kestrel grabbed Clay and held him up earning a confused look from the dragonet.

"Kestrel what is wrong with him?" Dune asked and Kestrel hummed and placed him on the ground with her snout close to the dragonet.

"Nothing. He's just what we need. A little monster." She said making the males look at each other a bit concerned.

Two days had passed and all of the eggs had hatched except the icewing but it was due to hatch at any given time.

"I wonder if the Icewing will be a boy or a girl? We already have three girls so the boys are out numbered." Webs said and Kestrel stomped on his tail causing him to yelp in pain.

"Shut up. The egg is beginning to hatch. About time too. Im tired of getting cold cloths to put on it." She said and sat down as the egg cracked more. All of them knew that Hvitur had a mate that wasnt an icewing but the didnt know what she was.

"So this is the moment we find out what Hvitar's mate was huh?" Webs asked as the snout of the dragonet broke the egg and its entire head managed to break out making all of the dragons look at it surprised.

"A....skywing of all dragons?" Dune asked in shock as the dragonet managed to get free from its egg. By now the other dragonets had woke up and were watching the hybrid.

"What should we name her? Should we try and give her a mixed name?" Webs asked as Dune turned the small dragonet onto her back earning a yip from her.

"Frostburn. Her underside looks like she has recently been burned thanks to her skywing DNA." Dune said and chuckled in amusement as Frostburn bit his claw to try and make him let her up.

"Feisty little thing isnt she?" Kestrel asked a bit amused herself as Dune allowed the dragonet to get up. Once she was up the others walked over to her to meet her.

As all of the dragonets got to know the new addition the adults watched silently.

"She must be hidden. Even from the tallons of peace. Even they dont care for hybrids." Webs said as he continued to watch the six dragonets.

They would raise five of the dragonets to try and complete the prophecy even iff they were missing the skywing they needed.

Ok so this is the beginning. Its a bit of a rough start but im going to try my best with this book. Also the picture is what Frostburn looks like. And no. Its not my art.
