"I dont want. To fight with you Fjord....." Frostburn said and the male looked at her with a soft expression. At this moment she knew he would fight but he would let her win.

They began to circle each other. Both refusing to make the first move.

"Fight dragonet!" He shouted at her and made a false lunge towards her causing her to swing her tail for defence. His claws caught her tail making her hiss in pain.

"Please. You have to win this fight kid. For Fjord. Now use your frost breath." He hissed quickly at the young hybrid. She quickly looked at Clay and the others before facing Fjord as she began to ready her frost breath only to be blasted on the wing by Fjord. The pain caused her to blast the wall where blue flames hit then froze once the damage had been done. Silence came from the dragons who were behind the part of the wall Frostburn had hit. No dragon had ever had that ability before. As the taunts and yells came from other dragons Fjord readied his frost breath again only for Frostburn to blast him with her odd fire. It blasted his snout burning then freezing the scales it made contact with. While he was distracted she tackled him and looked him in his eyes.

"I dont want to kill you Fjord..." She said quietly and he let out a rumble.

"I'm sorry....but kts you or me....i was going to let you win but at this rate we will fight forever." He said before knocking her off. Once she was off he sprang up and pinned her by her throat making her gasp for air. As he pinned her the others cried out and Tsunami tried to get to her.

"Don't hurt her!" Clay yelled as he pulled on his chains. This distracted the older Icewing and something black hit his scales. The black goo began to burn him making him jump back and try to rub the goo off. Frostburn could only watch in horror as the dragon was basically burned to death right in front of her.

"Help me! Make it stopppp!" He yelled before falling to the ground dead. Scarlet grinned as the audience cheered. Eventually Frostburn got up and looked away from the dead male. Were those the after effects of her odd fire and ice? Had she really caused that kind of damage?

"We have a winner. Frostburn the hybrid!" She said as two guards came to her. Still in a scared daze she didnt fight them as they took her back to the cell. Once back in the cell the other icewings went to her questioning her only for Almandine to step into the cell.

"Stop bombarding her. She just killed her first dragon and it was a friend. Give her time....." She said as she looked at her daughter who had curled up with her tail over her snout.

"Frostburn.....little one did you know you could do something like that?" She asked her daughter making the small female shake.

"I-I never used my fire o-or frost before.....ive never even trained to fight but i didnt want one of my friends to be killed...." Frostburn said as the icewings covered the cell door allowing Almandine to go to her daughter.

"It will be alright....every dragon eventually has to fight." She said as she put her wing over Frostburn. Out of instinct the young dragon leaned into her mother's wing.

"I never want to kill again...i dont want to see another dragon get killed....." She said as Almandine continued to comfort her for as long as she could without being caught.

"Your hybrid friend was pretty amazing today. I didnt know a dragon could use fire and ice like that. I wonder how she did that....think she would do it if she had to fight me?" She aske and Clay looked at her.

"Stop Peril. I dont think the last part was her.....there is no way that could have come from her kind of hybrid. Besides....she is too kind to have done something like that. She barely even prepared her....Freezing fire.." He said having to call it something.

"Freezing fire huh? I hope i still get to fight you before i fight her. If Queen Scarlet allows it." She said and Clay frowned. All this dragon could think about was fighting but then again that is what she had been raised to do. Once she had finished talking to him she left and he tried to sleep. But his sleep was only Full of nightmares about his friends. Sunny being in a ball like cage hanging from the wall. A giant skeleton dragon about to kill Starflight. Glory being forced to drink and eat things to change her color. Tsunami being killed but still trying to fight. Even a a nightmare of Kestrel being stabbed through the chest by Scarlet. But what really seamed to get to him was the nightmare of Frostburn being forced to kill more dragons and eventually going against Peril only to die.

Woth a jolt he woke from the nightmare and looked around. The sky was still dark so he put his head back down. Thoughts of his friends ran through his mind until he fell asleep again this time without the nightmares.

When morning came he was already waking up as Peril came to him.

"Quick, spread your wings! I don't want anyone to see me!" She said baffling the mudwing as she landed.

"They are having a trial, and queen Scarlet said i wasn't allowed to watch! I never go to trials. They're boring. So why would she tell me not to go? Something's going on, and i want to see what it is." She said and he covered her not wanting to argue.

"Its ok Peril...I'll help you." He said as he looked at her.

"Oh, i found your sandwing." She said and he perked up a bit.

"Sunny! Where is she?" He asked and she glanced at him.

"I'll tell you after the trial if you don't turn on me." She said and he huffed slightly.

"Peril, i told you, I'd help you. Wont someone be looking for you though?" He asked and she shook her head.

"Not today. I'm supposed to be down in the caves looking for black rocks." She said and he looked at Scarlet.

"Why does Queen Scarlet bother woth trials?" He asked and Peril rolled her eyes a bit.

"She loves the drama of them. They're starting!" She said quickly as she ducked down once she saw her queen and a few guards as well as a wingless dragon.

"Thats Vermilion, Queen Scarlet's oldest son. He always argues for the prosecution." She said while looking at a bright red male as he spoke to his mother.

"And the old one's Osprey. He lost his wings in the war. He's my friend, but he talks like a scroll." She said making Clay think of Starflight.

"Where's our defendant? Someone fetch her!" Scarlet said excitedly. The dragon that was brought out was Kestrel who was bound in chains with a muzzle on her snout. Clay could only wonder what the queen had in mind for the female that had helped raise him and his friends.
