you woke up in your bed. You roll over, your hand searching the bed but finding nothing. You're alone. Your heart sinks a bit when you realize Cara didn't stay the night. You know deep down it's stupid and you're probably upset over nothing but you feel a bit hurt. You let her into your home and she left without even saying goodbye.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You'd been training with Cara for a few weeks now. You genuinely really enjoyed it and were thankful that she was helping you. On the other hand you were quite annoyed at her for leaving ever time she slept with you. It bothered you so much that she disappeared every single time. You wanted another moment like the first time you two met where you just talked and cuddled after.
You're waiting at your usual training spot for her. It's been a half an hour since you two were supposed to meet and she still no where to be found. You're about to get up and leave until she comes running up to you. "I'm so sorry I'm late Y/N," she says. She sounds out of breath as if she ran there.
"I ran into an old friend," she tells you. Your shoulders tense up with jealousy. Maybe that's why she was leaving. So she didnt feel as guilty being with this old friend. "He needs my help. I want you to come with," she says. You jump at the chance to tell this stranger that she's yours and only yours. "I'd love to," you say smiling. To be fair you two never talked about what you were, label wise. But you were sure that it was at least something more than hookups.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You and her met with a man. He was taller. Probably about 6"2. He wore a helmet and a full suit of shiny armor. It was made of some metal but you couldn't tell exactly what "Hi. I'm Y/N," you say with a smile. "Mando," he says as he extends his hand. You shake it gently, taking the opportunity to glare at him every time Cara turned away.

The three of you rode into a small farm. "Everyone, they're here!" A child yells. "Well, looks like they're happy to see us," mando says. The kids of the village huddle around this weird green child that mando seemed to bring along. A woman guides mando into a tent before she does the same to Cara. You follow them quietly until she speaks up. "I'll show you where you're saying now if you'd like y/n," she says kindly. "I can share with Cara," you say a little TOO quickly. "Ok..." she says as she exits the tent, a smile on her lips. Your face goes red.

"Don't be embarrassed babydoll. I think it's cute that you want to spend so much time with me," she says laughing slightly as she slips her arms around your waist. She pulls you close and kisses you.

The three of you woke up bright and early the next day. You went into the forest outside of the village. Mando looks at the ground closely. It's as if he's scanning for something. "About 15 or 20 of them came through here on foot. And something big sheared off those branches," he says. You take a guess that he actually was scanning something in that helmet of his.

The three of you walk a bit more before stopping at a large footprint. "AT-ST," Cara says concerned. "Imperial Walker," Mando says. "What's it doing here?" You ask. "I don't know. But this is more than I signed up for," Cara says looking at Mando.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The three of you stand in front of the village. You had agreed that Mando should be the one to break the news. "Bad news, You can't live here anymore," he says. The people of the village erupt in noise. They're murmuring to each other nervously. "Nice bedside manner," you tell him. "You think you can do better?" He says annoyed. "Can't do much worse," Cara says.
Cara takes over. "I know this is not the news you wanted to hear. But there are no other options," the crowd quiets down with her words "You took the job," a teenage boy shouts from the crowd. "Yeah!" Another boy shouts. You assume that's his friend. "That's before we knew about the AT-ST," you say. "What's that," the first boy asks. "The armoured walker with two enormous guns that you knew about and didn't tell us," Cara says frustrated.
The villagers erupt into shouts. "We have nowhere to go," the woman who showed you to your tent says. "Sure you do. This is a big planet. I mean, I've seen a lot smaller," Cara says. You nudge her. "Be gentle," you whisper. She looks at you with a what was I supposed to do kind of expression.
"My grandparents seeded these pods," the boys friend from earlier yells. "It took generations," he says. " I understand. I do. But there are only three of us," you say. "No there's not! There's at least twenty here!" The boy says. "She means fighters. Be realistic," Cara says. "We can learn! Give us a chance," the boys friend says. "Please," you look at Cara, silently pleading her to say yes. She shakes her head no at you.
"I've seen that thing take out entire companies of soldiers in a matter of minutes," Cara says to them. "We're not leaving," the woman from earlier says. "You cannot fight that thing," Cara tells them. "Unless we show them how," you say to her. "Yeah! Show us!" People from the crowd yell. She looks at you annoyed. "Fine,"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The villagers are surrounding the three of you. "You got two problems here. You got the bandits, and you got the mech," you say. "We'll handle the AT-ST, but you gotta protect us when they come outta the woods. And I don't have to tell you how dangerous they are," Cara says. Mando takes over talking. "Cara Dune here is a veteran. She was a drop soldier for the Rebellion, and she's gonna lay out a plan for you. So listen. Carefully,"

"Now, there's nothing on this planet that can damage the legs on this thing. So we're gonna build a trap. We're gonna need to dig real deep," she starts. She points to a spot near the edge of the outer most krill pool. "right here, so that when it steps in, it drops," she says. "The three of us will hit their camp, provoke them. That'll bring the fight out of the woods and down here to us,"

Mando continues. " I'm gonna need you to cut down trees and build barricades along these edges. I need it high enough so that they can't get over, and strong enough so that it can't break through. Okay. Who knows how to shoot?" The woman from earlier raises her hand reluctantly.
