You wander around below deck on Cara's ship after changing into one of her spare shirts that she kept. Beside her small bed there's a crate filled with various weapons. There's a few other crates but you decide against looking inside as to not seem nosy. The bare walls make for a boring scene. As you examine the room your eyes fall upon a photo placed careful on a small shelf along with a few other small items. You take the picture down from its perch, your eyes inspect its contents.

Two figures stand together. Ones arm is wrapped around the other. On the left is a girl, no older than 19. She has long black hair falling just past her waist. Wispy curtain bangs frame her face. Her sharp cheekbones and jawline contrast with the gentle look in her green eyes. Her nose is small and upturned. She's a bit tall with a curvy build. Her expression is mellow, unlike what seems to be a teenage Cara stood beside her. Caras smile is wide, her arm wrests around the girls shoulder. Her dark hair is in a braid that rests on her shoulder. There's something about her in this photo that makes you smile. A certain blissfulness.

Her voice sounds from across the room. "I couldn't have been more than fifteen in that picture," she says. You look up at her as she walks over to you. She places her arms around your waist, looking at the photo from over your shoulder. "Who's the girl?" You ask. "That's my sister," she says with a smile. "Oh- I'm sorry I should put this back," you say. You feel guilty for touching something so precious to her.

You reach to put it back where you found it but she stops you. "No It's okay," she says quietly, taking the photo from your hands and looking at it. "She practically raised me. Our parents were always busy growing up so she took care of me when they were out," Cara smiles as she remembers her earlier years. "She was beautiful," you say, looking at Cara. "Yeah, she was. I can't count how many times she had the opportunity to run away and start a family with some boy but instead stayed to take care of me," she says with a sigh.

"She was the first person I told about... you know, me. I had known for a while but only got the courage to tell her a year or two before I ended up leaving. She always supported me. That was one of my favorite things about her. I never had to pretend to be someone I wasn't around her. I could just be myself," she tells you. You listen quietly to her. She turns her gaze to you. "You're the only other person I've ever had that with besides her you know," you turn around in her arms so you're facing her. She smiles softly before you lean in, kissing her gently.

"You don't know how happy it makes me to hear that," you whisper against her lips. She holds you for a moment before speaking up again. "I came down to tell you that we're gonna be landing soon. I thought you might want to sit up in the cockpit with me," she suggests. "I'd love to," you say. She starts walking to the cockpit, you follow closely with a smile on your face.

The ship lands on a mainly green planet. Cara opens the ships door. You walk out and take a breath in. The air is warm and clean. There are trees as far as the eye can see. "So... why exactly are we on an uninhabited planet in the middle of no where?" You ask. She laughs. "I said I wanted to show you something, I'm showing you something. Now come on, this isn't the part I want you to see," she says as she takes your hand in hers, walking away from the ship with you.

The two of you have been making your way through the Forrest for at least ten minutes. "We've been walking for so long is where you're taking me close? What planet are we even on right now-," you start. You silence yourself as you exit the trees and find yourself standing in a clearing with her. Your eyes widen as you take in the gorgeous scene in front of you. Jagged rocks dip down to form a small riven. Water from a towering waterfall flows in it. Tall trees covered head to toe in vines droop over the deep fracture in the ground.

"Wow- Cara I- This is gorgeous. Where-," you start. She interrupts you, answering your question. "Yavin 4. It used to be home to a rebel base. I'm not sure what happened but everyone abandoned it. The temple ruins are still there if you'd like to go see though," she says. "If it isn't too much trouble," you say. "Follow me," she says as she walks towards the side of the waterfall, climbing up the jagged rocks.  You follow behind.

She helps you pull yourself up once you reach the top. The view overlooks the top of the trees. A few overgrown stone temples stick out the masses of green leaves. You sit on the edge, looking at the scene in front of you. Cara sits beside you, her arms rest around your shoulder. You're speechless. You gawk at the view. The sun is just barely setting. "What do you think?" She asks. "It's- breathtaking," you respond. "You know what else is breathtaking? You," she says quietly. It's so cheesy you can't help but smile.

You turn your head to look at her after a moment. She isn't smiling like you are. She looks sad. No no, not sad... it's- something else. Sort of... apprehensive. "You alright?" You ask her. She stays looking down. "Y/N?" She asks after a moment of silence before turning to you. "I've told you more about all the shit that's happened to me than anyone I can recall and I just-," she swallows. "I feel like I've scared off everyone before you and so I understand if it's too much for you. I don't want you to feel like you have to stay with me if you don't w-,"

you cut her off. "Cara look at me," you say strictly. She's surprised at your change in tone. "Two things. Never- and I mean never apologize for your trauma. What you went through wasn't your fault and it never will be," you start. "Secondly, I'm not gonna pity date you," you say with a slight laugh. "I'm with you because I like being with you. You make me happy. What else could I possibly ask for," you say.

She smiles softly. You notice the expression in her eyes go from slight confusion to surprise for a second. It's like something inside her head just clicked. "Y/n, remember a few weeks ago in the sewer?" She asks. "Yeah I thought i was gonna die how could I not," you say. "You we're trying to tell me something and we got interrupted. What was it?" She asks. You look away from her. You knew you shouldn't have said anything. Now she probably thinks I'm way to forward and moving too fast or something. You think.

"Y/n?" She asks, interrupting your thoughts. "Oh um it was nothing important," you tell her. "Oh okay," she responds sounding a little disappointed. "It's getting dark. We should head back to the ship," you suggest. "Good idea," Cara says as you stand up. You offer her your hand and she takes it, standing up along with you. She climbs down carefully and watches as you make your way along to the ship in front of her. She follows you with an ever so slightly visible smile on her face.

Waitttt I'm kinda proud of myself this was a rlly cute chapter 🥺🥺🥺. Anyways I think I've come up with a pretty nice ending. I feel like for this book I owe y'all a genuine ending considering my last one was horrible and rushed bc I forgot to finish the book before I lost motivation. I'll try to make sure that doesn't happen to this one though lmao.
