You, Cara, Mando, and Greef Karga zoom over the dry hot land towards what seems to be two cliffs. A small narrow path is situated in between them. You're carried by a speeder which is driven by non other than the Mythrol Karga acquired a while ago. It's quiet. Karga speaks up, breaking the silence. "The whole base is powered by a reactor," he says. "We sneak in and overload the reactor," Cara tells mando. "and then get the hell out of there," you say with a nervous sigh.
"Let's be fast. And keep the speeder running," mando says, turning his gaze to the Mythrol. "There it is, right up there. You see it?" Karga asks. You nod in response. Sure Cara had mentioned it in past conversations before, but you never took the time off to come out here and see it for yourself. "How close you want me to drop you off?" The Mythrol asks. "How bout the front door?" Karga asks with a glare. "It's a title close for a civilian, isn't it?" He asks.
"I've got two choices for ya. You take us in and I knock a hundred years off your debit. "Or?" The Mythrol asks. You're already on edge and his disrespectful behavior just provoked you further. "Or we leave you out here in the flats to walk home with whatever's left in your humidity vest," you say. Cara smiles at your contemptuous response. She hasn't seen you really snap at anyone besides her during your few arguments before. She had to admit it was kind of a turn on. "Not much of a choice, Is it?" The Mythrol asks.
The speeder comes to a stop as you reach a tall metal door. "All right. We can't go any further than this," the mythrol tells you. "Let's go," Greef Karga says. Cara and mando hop out of the speeder at about the same time causing it to shake a little. As she steps out Cara offers you her hand, helping you up. "Thank you," you say quietly. She nods. Now just Mythrol remains in the speeder. The four of you walk up to the door. You look up, the metal exterior of the base sticks out over the canyon.
Mando tinkers with some buttons next to the door. "The controls are useless, they're melted," he informs you three. "Well it's probably not rated for lava," you say. "Imperial trash," Cara mumbles. Mythrol interrupts. "Alright, I'm headed back. Hit me up on the comm we could set up a rendezvous time," he says, starting up the speeder. "You park your gills right there until I say otherwise," Karga says, pointing at him angrily. "I'm starting to dehydrate boss," the Mythrol says. You try your hardest to hold in a giggle but in the end are unsuccessful. Mando harshly nudges your arm causing you to shut up.
"Oh, how does 30 more years off your debt sound?" Karga asks. He goes quiet for a second as he thinks. "Can you at least be quick about it?" He asks. "You wanna be quick? Grab the flange cutter and help us out," you say. "Ok fine. I don't like leaving my speeder like this just so you know," the Mythrol grumbles. "Come on! Hurry it up," Karga yells. "Alright I'm coming, I'm coming," The Mythrol says. "Hurry up," Karga grumbles once more.
The Mythrol pokes at the control panel, tinkering with the fried circuit board. "Hold tight," mando says as he turns on his jetpack. The Mythrol shrugs in defeat. Mando flies up, landing on the big metal platform connected to the base above head. "What in the world is he doing?" You say, shaking your head. Cara just looks up at the platform curiously. The Mythrol tinkers with the panel once more. The noise of sparks flying distracts Cara.
"How long is this gonna take," she asks the fairly blue creature. "Look lady, this is rated for light pluming and such. You're lucky I even packed it at all," the Mythrol says. You don't appreciate the way he's talking down to Cara but not wanting to cause a scene, you stay quiet. "Dank Farrik," she mumbles. Just as she speaks, a distant yelling gets closer quite quickly. A storm trooper falls off of the base from high above, landing at your feet and the door hisses open.
"Thank you mando," you whisper as you step into the doors. "Are you comin or what?" Karga asks. "I'll take my chances out there, but thank you," the Mythrol says. He's pushed you towards your limit. "Well when the lava tide comes in, give us a holler. We'll drop you a rope," you say, glaring mildly at the now very worried blue mass of a man. He stops in his tracks before quickly dropping the tool he was using on the control panel and stepping hastily inside the doors.
The small elevator you're in rises steadily. You reach the tall platform that rests in the side of the cliff. Mando stands in front of you. Stormtroopers bodies lay lifeless on the ground behind him."empty base, huh?" Mando asks, sounding a little annoyed. The four of you walk out onto the deck. Cara leans over the edge, staring at a high view of a valley. "The reactors should be set in the heat shaft. If we drain the cooling lines, this whole base will go up in a matter of minutes," Karga says.
"Look! It's a mint Trexler Marauder," the Mythrol says, pointing to a square ish vehicle, parked with a large tarp draped over it. "Do you know how much we could sell this for on the black market?" He asks. "Don't get too attached Gillface. It's gonna be vaporized like the rest of this base. Now let's go," you say strictly. "Such a waste," he says scoffing slightly. "I swear if I hear one more peep out of you I will cut off your-," Cara interrupts you, slapping a hand over your mouth to prevent the others from hearing the details.
The large door slides up with a squeak. You and Cara stand to the side of the door, your backs pressed against the cold metal. You raise your weapon in case of there being people. As the door finishes opening you peek inside, your blaster serving as the only form of protection for your delicate human body.
"Shuttle bay, this is command," you hear a voice say. "Shuttle bay. The security feed just went down. Can you check your relay hub?" he continues. Static blares from the speaker. The five of you walk in very quietly. "Shuttle bay?" He asks again. He sounds confused by the lack of response. You take out a small knife, preparing to take him out with it. Cara shakes her head at you and mouths what you make out as "no blood,". You put the knife away slowly.
She gives a little "stay there," motion in your direction and carefully steps up behind the man. "Shuttle bay, this is-," Cara grabs him before he can finish his sentence. She wraps an arm around his neck, choking him out. He kicks for a minute but eventually stops struggling. Cara gently lays his body on the ground. "You seriously think that was less violent than my approach?" you ask in a sort of half whisper, still very aware of your surroundings despite no officers being around. "It was a hell of a lot cleaner," she says.

This chapter cuts off in a really weird place I'm sorry. This is part one of two chapters because at first when I wrote it the chapter got way too long and I had to divide it up. Also HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!! It's June 2 when I'm writing this. I've been thinking a lot about my validity as a queer person and I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm a lesbian with really bad comphet that I'm going to have to learn to overcome. Anyways you are who you are and you should love yourself for that. Love you <3
