Mando taps around on a panel of various buttons and switches. Karga grabs something from the dead officer and hands it to the Mythrol. "I found the heat shaft. Let's go," mando says drawing his blaster. The four of you walk down a hallway, weapons facing forwards. "The access corridor should be right past this junction," mando tells you.

You're about to walk into a cross way when cars yanks you back, pulling you right to her chest and pressing her hand against your mouth to prevent noise from escaping. She looks into your eyes. "'Must've blown a transformer over there," one storm trooper says. "All right. Well check it out," the secondm one promises through his helmet. "Section-Four? TK-1-4-7," he continues. Cara releases you and mouths a short "sorry".

You quietly walk down the hall. The stormtroopers backs are turned but Cara still has her weapon raised. "There, Mythrol, slice that door," mando says. "Use the code cylinder," Karga adds in, passing the small metal piece he took from the dead guard earlier to him. The Mythrol places it in a small hole in the center of the panel and presses a button. The door hisses open.

The five of you walk on to a thin metal bridge. Hot lava pools far below you. "Woah!" Mythrol says. "Yeah, "woah" is right," Karga says. Mando uses his arm to push the Mythrol back from the edge a bit, trying to make sure he doesn't fall. "That's it," Karga says pointing to a large slanted metal cylinder attached to the wall by a tiny platform. It's less than a foot wide. A control panel is attached to the far end.

"Get on the reactor controls, drain the coolant lines. "We'll watch the doors," Karga tells the Mythrol. He looks around at you and the others a little. "Me?" He asks, surprised. "Yes, you!" Karga says. "I'm afraid of heights. And heat. And lava," Mythrol tells him. "How bout if I put ya back in carbonite? Get over there!" Karga yells. "But I-," The Mythrol starts. You cut him off. "Just shut up already! I'll do it," yell.

Cara looks at you with wide eyes. "I'll be fine," you say shrugging your shoulders. "Hopefully,"you think. You step carefully on the platform, inching your way along. You get to the keypad and push a few buttons. The system turns red. An alarm starts blaring. You look down to see the lava rising rapidly below you. "All right, she's gonna blow. Let's get outta here!" You yell, quickly making your way off the platform.

You can tell caras been nervously holding her breath. She lets out a deep sigh of relief as you get to the edge. She extends her hand, helping you off safely. The five of you run down the hall. "How long do we have," Cara asks. "Ten minutes at most," Greef Karga responds. You pause running as you hear stormtroopers. Mando signals for you to go a different direction.

Two officers stand at a large panel of buttons. "Hurry up, purge the drives," one says. You enter the room, your blaster raised. "Destroy it," one yells as blaster fire starts. You shoot at them. To your surprise they shoot at the panel instead of defending themselves. Once they're down you take a closer look at the room. The walls are lined with pod like vessels. They're filled with some liquid which incases a body.

"What the-," Greef Karga starts. You reach out a little, brushing your pinkie against caras hand, silently asking if you can hold it. She accepts the gesture and takes your hand into hers. Her grip is tight. She's nervous. "I thought you said this was a forward operating base," she says. "I thought it was," Karga argues. "No this isn't a military operation," she says. "This is a lab," you whisper.

She glances at you. "We need to get into the system and figure out what's going on," she says. "What about the reactor-," the Mythrol says. "Do it!" Cara yells. The Mythrol scurries off. "I don't like this," mando says.

"Pardon me," the Mythrol says as he shoves a dead body off the control panel, causing you to turn to him. "How charming," you scoff quietly. He messes around with some switches until a hologram appears. "Replicated the results of the subsequent trials, which also resulted in catastrophic failure," the little projection starts, catching the attention of everyone. "There were promising effects for an entire fortnight, but then, sadly, the body rejected the blood," it continues.

The five of you gather around it. "I highly doubt we'll find a donor with a higher M-count, though. I recommend that we suspend all experimentation. I fear that the volunteer will meet the same regrettable fate if we proceed with the transfusion. Unfortunately, we have exhausted our initial supply of blood. The child is small and I was only able to harvest a limited amour without killing him," it says. You touch Mandos arm slightly, fear on your face. He flinched at the sudden contact, looking at you.

He then turns his gaze to Karga, who looks down at the floor. "If these experiments are to continue as requested, we would again require access to the donor. I will not disappoint you again, Moff Gideon," it finishes before flickering off. You tense at the name. There's no way? He was killed when his ship crashed. Unless...

"This must be an old transmission. Moff Gideon is dead," mando says. "No. This recordings three days old," the Mythrol tells mando. "If Gideon's alive then-," you start. Troopers burst in through the doors. "Over there!" One shouts. You shoot at them before running to take over in the sides of the room. "We have them!" Another trooper yells.

The five of you take turns popping out of your hiding places and shooting as many troopers as you can without getting hit. You lean out and shoot three more. You pull the trigger, aiming for another but it doesn't go. You try again but to no avail. "Fuck," you whisper under your breath. "It's stuck. Does anyone have an extra?" You ask. You are royally screwed if no one has anything. Walking around an imperial base with no form of protection or defense whatsoever is not ideal.

"Catch," mando says as he tosses a small blaster over to you. "Thanks," you say as you pop back out, shooting again. He nods at you. It's such a simple gesture but for the first time in a while, you feel like you have a friend. Not an acquaintance but a real, trustworthy, friend.
