“I didn’t mean to mom! It was an accident!”
“If I ever find you in my room again I’ll kill you!” The sound of footsteps faded down the hallway as my mom marched away and back into the kitchen to get another drink. I walked over to my bed and dropped onto it. I just sat there thinking about the mom I used to have: playful, loving, and supportive. I missed her ever since dad had died. Tears started flowing from my eyes and down my cheeks when I thought of dad. Ever since he died mom had gotten into drinking. She got drunk often and beat me up for no reason. I had a lot of cuts and bruises but I would hide them from everyone.

I got up and walked over to my dresser. Slowly I opened it and dug through it till I found what I was looking for. I pulled it out, grabbed my guitar from inside my closet and sat back on my bed. Setting my guitar down, I took the book I had grabbed from inside my dresser and started flipping through it until I got to the R’s. I grabbed my guitar and started to play the first song from my favorite band: R5. I could play every song by them. Some of my old friends thought I was crazy but I love their music, it calms me. I was sitting on my bed playing when all of a sudden my phone buzzed beside me. I picked it up, it was a tweet from R5.

“You ready to rock Arizona?” it read. I through my guitar on my bed and stood up in excitement. “They were here. In Arizona. Where I live!” I said under my breath. I flew to my computer and popped up their sit. Sure enough they were here. I slide my curser over the buy button to check if they were sold out. I almost jumped sky high when it read “buy.”

“I have to go!” I said. I was just about ran to ask my mom when I remember she was drunk. I looked at the clock, it read 2:37. I decided to wait till she got better. I bought the tickets anyway just in case they ran out then turned off my computer and went back to my bed. I picked up my guitar again and started playing.

It wasn’t long before it was 4 o’clock. I decided it was now or never. Taking a deep breath, I walked over to my door, opened it and walked down the hallway to the living room. My mom was laying on the couch with a bottle of beer in her hand. She sat up when she heard me coming and looked at my in disgust. “Great she’s still drunk.” I thought.

“What do you want?” she snarled at me.

“I-oh-Was... Um.”

“Well get on with it!” she yelled making me jump.

“I was wondering if I could go to a concert? My favorite band is playing.” I said.

“Sure, whatever. Now get out of here, I’m trying to take a nap!”

Quickly, I spun around and walked back to my room. I jumped with joy when I got there, still surprised my mom had said yes. I looked over at my clock, it read 4:13. “The concert starts at 7 o’clock so I should probably start getting ready” I thought. I walked into my bathroom and looked into the mirror. I hated myself. I had curly red hair and freckles sat upon my face. I used to wear glasses but replaced them with contacts. Sighing, I got undressed and took a shower. When I had finished I grabbed a towel, put it around me and walked over to my closet. I hadn’t decided what to wear yet but it didn’t take long for me to spot my favorite dress. I pulled it off the hanger and slipped it on. Then I walked back the the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. I decided to try to straighten my hair but it wasn’t working too well so I just left it curly.

By the time I had done everything it was 5:28. I hurried out into the living room. My mom was sound asleep on the couch so I slowly tiptoed past her. I opened the front door and slipped outside unnoticed. I wasn’t far from where they were performing so I decided to walk. It was nice outside, there was a nice summer breeze and the sky was crystal clear. I turned to the left and walked on the sidewalk to the concert.

My walk wasn’t as long as I thought it was going to be and the line to get in was surprisingly short. I handed a man my ticket and walked through the gates. I was so excited to be at my first R5 concert. When I got in the stadium there were many girls there. All of them were laughing with a group of friends so I looked pretty sad standing by myself in the crowd. Shortly after I got there I got a text. I pulled my phone out of my purse . The text was from mom. It read “You’re died when I get there!”
